Plenty of goals then.  Encouraging to see Khouri, Goundry and Tomlinson starting pre-season well.

From reading the feed on the Hull Academy Twitter - Crocombe, Waterfall, Pearson, Efete, JMD, Khouri, Clifton, and McAtee all played in the first half so I'd assume they started. Tomlinson the only player mentioned after half time.

6-1 Town

Glennon scores a penalty after Essel was fouled in the area.

I believe Hurst said in his Cleethorpes post-match that he would be fielding the same sides

He's not, Clifton scored first half but played second half Saturday is one example. Must be resting someone as Milner is playing second half.

Like the sound of Glennon on pens (based on nothing really). Need someone reliable after some of our shoddy efforts last season!

Didn’t see any mention of Wearne or Khan. Guessing their knocks from Saturday’s game may have kept them out.

Very encouraging to hear that Khouri, Tomlinson and Essel have all scored in what essentially is a game against their Hull counterparts.

Finished 6-1 by the way.

Hull took the lead, our scorers were Clifton, Khouri, McAtee, Tomlinson, Essel and Glennon (penalty) just to round off.

Unsure of our Team and who played overall but mentioned in commentary were Crocombe, Efete, Waterfall, Maguire-Drew, Clifton, Khouri, McAtee, Tomlinson, Essel, Glennon, Battersby and Milner.

The new OS does seem to be rather devoid of match action. There was no mention of the Cleethorpes game until the Sunday.

Hopefully it's just a typo and it's supposed to say 46 like the other half-time substitutions.

Doubt it as the sub was Pearson who was also subbed later in the game by goudhry.

Looks like coke got half hour as well so I wonder if he will be registered to play if needed. Only a friendly so probably not needed for this game but interesting he got some time on the pitch

I see Giles Coke played, interesting. I’m assuming that it was only to make up the numbers but surely there was a youngster who would have benefited more. I can only assume it’s to keep up his fitness just in case he is needed. However it also might be because we need a couple of midfielders and none are on the horizon at the moment. Time no doubt will tell. #UTM

Presumably Coke needs to maintain a degree of match fitness as Hurst confirmed he might slot into some of the development teams games.  Hurst said his time with the first team was over after the Cleethorpes game.

I see Hull were using 'Trialist', not sure he's earned a deal after that game

Hull City (4-3-3): Harry Fisk (Tom Macauley 46’); Trialist (Kyle Fanning 83’), Festus Arthur (Rocco Coyle 64’), Jack Leckie, Alfie Taylor; Harry Lovick (James Carr 76’), Harry Wallis (Oliver Green 55’), Sincere Hall (Keegan Green 70’); McCauley Snelgrove (Aman Panesar 46’) (C), Josh Hinds (Glen Sani 46’), Will Jarvis (Mason Johnson 78’).

There's nothing wrong with developing "more of our own ", especially if they get slightly longer to be trained up and learn from the experienced players.

I would be using Ryan Taylor to assist with his trademark holding and one touch passing, so that we can keep playing in a similar fashion and formation through the team levels.

Coke for the midfielders and other Hurst tasks, and also Pearson for the defenders.

Fitness and conditioning is great, but there is always the "old hand" tricks of the trade, and visual awareness of positioning that needs to be in the minds of younger players.

I'm sure that Andy Smith developed and appreciated the help given last season, which will probably push him a division higher than us this season.

I suppose it depends what kind of team Hull assemble but I wonder if they will test him in the first round of the League Cup and make a decision whether or not to get him out on loan at the end of August.

I think Smith will have the bit between his teeth and not want to be playing meaningless U23 matches next season.
