Admire the mutual respect shown between managers and how well he conducts himself. Very experienced manager who has been there before, I'm sure he'll be able to pick the team up and go again. Conducted himself with respect and dignity which is nice compared to what we saw with Wrexham's manager.

He was very complimentary to Paul and the team, I thought Solihull were a very good team and put on a solid display, it’s easy to say now (after a win) they were unlucky and have some good players, they will be in the football league soon enough, good luck to Solihull for the future.

I'd imagine that they'll lose a few of their better players during the summer. Hopefully, the prospect of League football will mean that a few of ours who might be in demand will stay!

I would also think that he (Ardley) may have a few admirers from above.

Thought it was real class that he and his players stuck around to see the trophy presented to Town.

Yes absolutely,  I guess it's one of those " look at them and see where you could be" moments but bloody decent side tbf.

Thought he was class. Been really impressed by the class and grace shown by opponents in recent times. Ardley and SMFC in general. Wrexham fans and staff showed total class, and also Notts fans and staff. Thank you so much for that character and class and grace and respect . Best of luck to you all. You’ve been absolutely superb as people and professionals. To think that there were some people at the final today who were funded by big hearted Wrexham and Notts fans …..that brings a tear to the eye. Love to all those people. ❤️

Good manager who has put together a proper team who play the game how it should be played. Not seen any of the tv stuff yet but yeah it was nice to see their players applauding as our heroes celebrated - we all know their pain.

I guess their side will get decimated now because it’s full of quality. Barnett is one for a start who can play higher than NL and would fit in nicely at BP. Hopefully they can keep the majority though and have a good crack at it next season. They do it the right way and with style.

I thought Solihull were superb most of the game until the striker went off - compressed the space, fast on the attack, more fluid.  A very very good football team.

You can tell a lot about the character of professionals by how they conduct themselves in defeat. Solihull, Wrexham, Notts…..all shown superb dignity, respect and grace. Hope they all go up!!!!

That's what we were saying once his threat had been removed

Smith should have twatted him earlier.

we got away with that. 2.5 halves of the 3 games, they've been better (or at worst) equal to us. think weve really done a number on their striker, which has turned the game (plus hurst changing tactics at h.t)

full respect to solihull - they play proper football, and i was fully convinced theyd turn us over again,
best compliment i can pay is to say they play really good football, and i'd be happy to see us signing 3 or 4 of their players

Don't think Parky did with Wrexham after that game. Said a perfunctory congratulations to Town, then went into a long rant about how the officials lost the game for them. Not much dignity or respect.
Wrexham fans have been superb though.

One of my reactions after the match was that actually neither team deserved to lose. Like most posters to this thread, I was very impressed by Solihull team and their manager’s reactions and I said to my mates that I would be looking out for their results next season and I will be hoping they can do it next time. We’ll done Solihull you deserve to do well.

What a contrast to Parkinson. I thought it was very sporting the way the Solihull players stayed on the pitch at the end to applaud our players. All credit to them.

If Solihull had been playing anybody else in that final then I would have been rooting for The Moors. Considering they were only formed less than 20 years ago is testament to how you can succeed with the right philosophy, organisational structure and the drive to realise your ambitions . I seriously hope they do get promoted next season - a proper club run for its community .

Not really a new club. They were a merger of Moor Green (formed in 1901) and Solihull Borough (formed in the 50s). They had got a really good team together considering their small attendances. They've had some good players come through the ranks in recent years as well.

Enjoyed listening to that Ardley interview. Comes across very well. Classy guy who I would imagine would be the type of Manager/person that our owners would be interested in should PH ever move on.
