Wow, not one, single player from Town!  But a place in the team of the year for a Chesterfield player who only played half a season.

That list is truly remarkable - in terms of no ‘promoted’ Grimsby Town players in it.
Nice little list for Grimsby to possibly offer terms to though in the quest for promotion from League 2.

We might bizzarely not have a player in the team of the season but there is a strong argument that we do have the actual TEAM of the season.

We came under the radar and timed it to perfection.

Best way.

Don't care.... we are UP....

'I walked in the dressing room. The window was open and I thought that a sea fret had got in. Then I saw smoke billowing from a pipe in the corner of the room...it was my centre-forward. He looked seven stone wet through. He went on to score thirty-odd goals that season.' Lawrie McMenemy on encountering the legend that was Matt Tees.

Team effort from our lads. How many times were Chesterfield on BT Sport live as well? Someone at BT must be a Chesterfield fan.

When Fishmonger scored their winner at BP, their manager, staff and directors were giving it large.

At that point of the season, they were convinced they were heading for the EFL.

Shows that putting all your eggs in one basket isn't always wise and having a TEAM that finds a way is more important.

We have had so many different goal scorers this season that I've lost count and as it turned out, we didn't need that obligatory 20 goal a season striker that most were demanding.

The amount of goals a player scores isn't as important as when he scores them and who against. Crucial goals outweigh sheer number of goals.

Absolutely don’t care.
A mate of mine, who’s a Chesterfield fan said after we had beaten them away from home, that he was still pleased they had their team rather than ours.
I have to say I agree with him, I’m so please they don’t have our team.
Hope he enjoys another season in non league.

Not important but I thought it was funny that the NL have released a revised team of the season which now includes two GTFC players 🤣

What a shambles of a league. Real shame because whilst it’s tough to swallow, the likes of Wrexham are only pulling the standard up. The 5th division deserves better than the idiots running it.

Completely irrelevant to a football league club.

How amateur…made me proper chuckle.

Met a sheff Utd fan at knebworth last week, all his mates were chesterfield fans. Said he hated them. Said they’d spent all summer telling everyone they are going up…he said he wanted us to batter Solihull. His mates had been giving it large that we wouldn’t have it in us, that we were fluke winners…

Such a weird bunch chesterfield. We didn’t need the 20 goal a season man, nor did we need to spunk cash.

Enjoy those excrement 5:15kos away at Bromley…
