I’m not sure that is the case. My car is a 2019 petrol engine and the TFL website confirms it meets the regs and no ULEZ charge applies.

Guidelines but confirm using the TFL checker:

The ULEZ is enforced based on the declared emissions of the vehicle rather than the age. However:

Petrol cars that meet the ULEZ standards are generally those first registered with the DVLA after 2005, although cars that meet the standards have been available since 2001
Diesel cars that meet the standards are generally those first registered with the DVLA after September 2015

It’s looking highly likely I’ll be more driving down on Sunday with my nephew and his mate, is that event I’ll have two spare spaces if anyone knows of anyone particularly struggling to get there.

Will be leaving early AM from Grimsby/Clee but happy to collect from nearby if needed. I’d just ask they contribute to fuel that’s all.

Which route are people taking? I was thinking of driving to Epping and then get the tube to Strafford.
Shortest route 156.8 to Epping 3:31hrs.

You won't have any congestion charge to pay but unless you're driving an EV you will need to pay the ULEZ charge which is £12.50 for most vehicles.

Im sorry but that's cobblers, as Les has pointed to :-

https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/check-your-vehicle/

Any car registered after 2015 is likely to be non chargeable. If your car is a Petrol then it has to meet Euro 4 standards, for a Diesel it has to be Euro 6 standard.

Mine is a 5 year old diesel and I wont have to pay.

That's what we're doing. It's a 30 minute train into Stratford. Gives a bit of a breather after the drive too. Not fully happy with the arrangement as I'd've preferred to park at the stadium as my sister is disabled, but the ULEZ charge is more than the cost of the tube and we're keeping costs as low as we can, but it has given up a disabled parking space for others who may need it more than our circumstances.

It's a 2015 Honda Civic Diesel. The page suggests I'll pay the ULEZ charge if I drive into it. It seems odd as I don't pay any car tax as it's such low emission.
