Who would we want in the final?  Solihull Moors beat us twice in the league, will take hardly any fans and just give me a bad feeling.  I’d have taken Chesterfield a week ago but if they win tomorrow they’ll be on a high like Town.

It would be very Grimsby to lose now in the final

Solihull Moors doesn't have a name that sounds like a league 2 club but GRIMSBY TOWN does.

WE'RE GOING UP

Honestly either of them will be tricky opponents but we surely fear nobody.

Either of them is fine, Wrexham always felt like the biggest hurdle and we overcame it. You could say Solihull are more threatening having beat us twice this season but we lost to Newport in the playoffs having soundly beat them twice during the season. It's all about which team can pull out a performance on the big stage and I think we have a team that can do it.

Chesterfield fans don't seem to fancy playing us after today, while we did let in 4 goals they won't have the same attacking threat or set piece threat that Wrexham troubled us with. Solihull fans no idea because their forum seems dead with about 5 posters on it and they are busy moaning about Chesterfield fans calling them tinpot. Solihull have a set piece threat if they bring gigantor on but I think we can beat them by then. Felt we was unlucky in our home match not to score a couple more and should have had a penalty before we let them back into it.

Solihull have had a good season and their fans seem to have developed a bit of a chip on their shoulder for a Mickey Mouse club. They probably have more confidence they can win the playoffs than even the Wrexham fans at this point.

"Who in the final?"

Whichever teams loses I'm sure next season they Won’t Get Fooled Again.

I'd prefer Chesterfield after seeing Solihull deservedly beat us twice this season.

Chesterfield being the bigger club would help our subconscious mentality with it being a bigger club. But seeing as Solihull did the double on us that should hopefully have the same effect. And I'd also fancy it to be one of those scenarios we're a team does the double over the other but loses the most important one (a la Cheltenham 2006).

It’s a hard one isn’t it. Do we want to play Solihull who have beat us twice but will have minimum support or do we want to play Chesterfield who we have smashed but will bring a much larger support? Either way we have to turn up on the day and who knows. I just hope and pray after the last 2 games and how it’s panned out it’s not just a big anti climax. We can beat either.

Personally I’m not bothered as this season has told me if we focus on ourselves and keep doing what we’ve been doing we’ll win the game.

Chesterfield - I’d like us to beat them, they’ve ridiculed us like Wrexham have, I’d enjoy us beating them 😊

Not bothered.

If we play like we have done these last two games we could play Solihull AND Chesterfield and still win.

Chesterfield, as they will take as many as we do, creating a terrific atmosphere. Sorry Solihul...

Chesterfield as a preference but just glad we are in the final.

If I'm honest, I didn't think we would get there, but we are on a roll and can beat either of them if we keep up the spirit we have shown.

We'll almost certainly need to defend better than we did yesterday, whoever we face!

If it is Solihull, it would be handy if their massive striker concussed himself walking under a low bridge before the game. He was the difference at BP and I struggle to see how you cope with him if the delivery is good enough.

Definitely prefer Chesterfield, they will bring more fans and our team (unlike many over the years) always seem to perform better in front of more fans and on a bigger occasion. They've also been excrement since losing tshimanga and we look to have been the better team than them when we've played.

Solihull are the best opposition I've seen at BP this season

I suspect it could be Solihull. We know their style so we approach that accordingly. Chesterfield took it to Halifax in a woeful game in the week and got their rewards but it’s clear now things had changed at Halifax with it being obvious that their manager was going.

It's a strange one. Chesterfield beat a consistent Halifax team  (who had a shocker on the night) and just held onto their play off place on the last day. Solihull are a bogey team for us but, who knows, may be overwhelmed by the occasion if they get to the final and take a poor following with them.
I'd fancy our chances against either but so much depends on our recovery after two rounds of 120 minutes.

We only really had four days to recover after Notts. Now we have  seven.  Plus, the players didn't look like the walking wounded at the end of the game like they did on Monday. MacAtee was taken off before his cramp set in, and Holohan and Taylor looked in better shape.

So I am hoping that, unless there are injuries in training, everyone who played yesterday should be fit and raring to go.
