Eastleigh goalkeeper Joe McDonnel has gone on loan to Solihull Moors for the final two games of the season, every little helps

Taken off the Eastleigh fans forum....

"Solihull Moors have signed him for the final two games of the season, he's under contract with us for next season. Now one assumes SM have injuries to their first choice GKs so they're permitted to an emergency signing, fairnuff. But Lg 1 have finished their season bar the POffs, so why couldn't SM borrow a second string GK from a Lg1 club? OK, we have nothing to play for, but our final game is against playoff contenders Grimsby. What do the other playoff contenders have to say about us being understrength in a critical position, ostensibly giving Grimsby an advantage? This makes no sense to me in terms of being fair to all combatants for the playoffs. Anyway, Charlie Philpott should keep goal for us in the final two games, IMHO. He's the future, Flits is the past."

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

I'm surprised the league have sanctioned this and I'm sure Notts County, Chesterfield and Dagenham aren't happy. Maybe Solihull are playing dirty and confidently fancy us in the play-offs?

If there no.1 keeper boots is injures that’s a major worry for Solihull he is a class keeper at this level and undoubtedly a major contribution to their successful season. Said a few weeks Back the should ph be on the look out for a keeper next season this chap boot maybe the answer

Is it actually a loophole? emergency loans are allowed for keepers even outside the normal transfer window, if Ryan Boot their number 1 is injured and if the other keepers at the club have not played a certain amount of pro games then they are eligble to sign an emergency loan, Luton have sigbned several keepers this season, including one last week due to injuries so I don't see it as a loophole.

Aye, we signed Mark Oxley in the same circumstances.

I suppose it would be a loophole if they broke their usual keeper's arm, like what happened to that lad who Stallone replaced in Escape to Victory.
