After today's stalemate against Aldershot, Maidenhead go six matches unbeaten.

Not as easy as many would think given their league position.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

A valid observation, although one thing which gives me confidence is our record in this kind of game at home this season. If you look at our 12 home fixtures so far against the bottom 13, we’ve won 11 and drawn 1, thanks to that frustrating draw against King’s Lynn.

Granted, three of those have required stoppage time winners and several others were relatively tight 1-0s, but on balance I remain relatively confident going into this one. Definitely a game where the BP crowd needs to hold its nerve though; we could do without an unnecessarily tense atmosphere.

Notts have to play them as well, but at their place where they have an excellent record against the “bigger clubs”.

As someone who doesn't really care about goal difference "because leagues are rarely settled on goal difference" we could do with hammering Maidenhead on Saturday to give us a better goal difference than Notts County.

The battle for 5th and 7th could very easily come down to goal difference now. That win against Dag & Red was so crucial but they have a better goal difference than us, Chesterfield and Notts County.

They seem a half decent side. Had some good results at times but we are rightly favourites. Not expecting them to roll over and play ball however.

We need to get at them from the off but that's been easier said than done lately and we have a habit of starting slowly and conceding first.

Seem to recall the game at their place was the beginning of our bad spell. We were bang average that day and they were just ok
If they park the bus it could be a frustrating afternoon

When we played them at their place I thought they where o.k., certainly well organised. If there is now McAtee then we definitely need to start with Taylor and Abrahams and 2 wide players. From what I've seen this season if you get behind sided out wide you can cause them real problems.

I hope we get another bumper crowd as I though it was interesting what Jason said on the DN35 pod cast how much it lifts the players.

You know what you're gonna get with any Alan Devonshire side in this division. Massive centre backs, central midfielders who will run through walls and nippy wingers. His teams are always horrible to play against. He was the manager of Braintree when they spanked us 5-0. Maidenhead have beaten Halifax, Chesterfield and Wrexham this season and anyone who was at our match at their place earlier in the season will remember how tough it was. Definitely not an easy three points this one.
