Appreciate Taylor has played the last 2 games but what is our points return with and without him?

We need to give him a big deal for a couple more years as we should hopefully get his wages back in a transfer fee when he eventually moves on

Did not expect that! I think McAtee will be on the bench Saturday, unleashed against Boreham Wood and the last game will depend what's riding on it.

I know he is an integral part of a winning team but if we are dependant on our success on one individual then we are fooked! Look at Chesterfield!!

Town inside the M25 in 2021-22:
Played: 5 Goals For: 5 Goals Against: 9 Won: 0 Drawn: 2 Lost: 3 Points: 2 PPG: 0.4
With suits at the National League conspiring to exploit our achilles heel by arranging the playoff final inside the M25, we might not have a chance in it even with a fully fit McAtee.
this is a joke in case anyone is dumb enough to take it seriously

Check your figures. Ryan Taylor has come on as sub 3 times (W 1 D 0 L 3):- Bromley 3-1 Grimsby Grimsby 0-1 Notts Co Yeovil 0-2 Grimsby Ryan Taylor has missed 6 matches (W 4 D 0 L 2):- Grimsby 2-0 Yeovil Wealdstone 1 - 0 Grimsby Dover 1-3 Grimsby Grimsby 1-0 Woking Southend 1-0 Grimsby Kings Lynn 0-1 Grimsby So that's W 5 D 0 L 4 & 15 points (1.667 per game) in the 9 league matches Taylor didn't start. In the games that Taylor has started it's W 17 D 7 L 8 & 58 points (1.813 per game)

With respect to the opposition, those are games we should win with or without him.

Honestly, I think we are short even with him. We didn't win this league with Amond and Bogle. Mcatee is quality, but he isn't a 9 as they say nowadays, Taylor is class but he isn't going to return 20 plus a season.
But without Mcatee, when we play off, sorry we are average. He is vital.

Thought we huffed and puffed 1st half with no attacking intent, as others say Taylor was v isolated. Ref helped Barnet as well, they were timewasting after 20 mins and he did nothing, and blew every time they fell over. Best part was stopping play for Barnet injuries with us in possesion then restarting with uncontested drop balls for their keeper. Jones may as well sit and watch from Dagenhams bench for the rest of the season thats how good he is. Will be pleased if Fox starts next game. 2nd half played ok but then a fantastic diving header by Waterfall for Barnet within a couple of minutes of putting a free header wide at the other other end. Fox came on then it all changed could have scored a couple more but poor finishing a weak ref and then idiot "fans" holding the game up taking the sting out of the tail when Barnet wewre knackered and in panic mode. Hope the prat who jumped on the net gets a ban, the plonker. No wonder we get treated like sh1te by police ewverywhere we go. Barnet were absolutely awful and just frustrated with therer tactic of throwing themselves on the ground feigning injury when under pressure and just hoofing it up in the air.

Agree re. a small minority of our “fans”. Sorry to say this but there are some complete morons/chavs that go to Town matches for other reasons rather than to watch the game. Saw one idiot punch another Town fan towards the end. I also felt like marching the person who kept on throwing inflatables on the pitch after our 2nd, out of the ground myself. It’s no wonder we all have to deal with over zealous stewards and police throughout the season when these cretins, who I can only assume are on day release from the slammer, spoil it for the rest of us.

He is back in training so when we need him we will have him. If we can get results with him on the bench to give him more recovery time even better, but it looks like he will be available for the playoffs unless he has a setback.

The two key players who we are a shadow without are Mcatee and Efete ( for what he brings when he goes forward). Don’t need a points analysis to see that.

We will have to without either of them next week given the way Efete was limping after the game.

PH said he has a sprain which nominally would be 3-4 weeks, but the player is claiming it doesn't seem that bad. Reading between the lines on what PH said in the pre-match I think he'll leave J McAtee as long as possible but then I'd expect him to play through the play-offs with shoulder strapped.

If McAtee has such an influence when he plays, I would risk him on Saturday to help get 3 points and get us all but over the line (4 points needed to guarantee a playoff place)

I would do the opposite. Trust the other players to get us over the line, we may only need a point If Dagenham lose at the weekend. Give him as much time as possible to get fit and not risk making it worse.I'd rather see him firing on all cylinders in the play offs than playing against Boreham Wood half fit.

Put him on the bench and use him if we need him. It's a tough one because there is that balance to strike between needing your best players available at this time of the season and looking after their best interests too.

Abraham has the same physical attitude to get amongst defenders as shown against Barnet, so he needs to continue to step up to give McAtee more recovery time.
Fox can help to galvanise the midfield and that should be enough if all of the remaining players and subs play to their best.
It' s our home game - take it to the opposition !

McAtee on the bench for me to be used in emergencies only till the playoffs. Fox in for Jones and maybe start Abrahams as well. Let’s get on the front foot.

Abraham will hopefully show his potential in the next couple of games, and a goal or 2 will do him good as well !!
Training this week should have got him and Taylor knowing how to play off each other so neither are isolated.

Wow, didn't expect that.
Personally i am nervous about risking him, and would have given him another week off to mend. But Hurst is cautious and Macatee so he might be in better shape than we thought.
