65 mins 4-0 just took madden and sarcevic off to keep them fresh for Friday. They have a system, close down all over the pitch, then quickly send it into it the channels and turn the defenders. Southend haven't laid a glove on them yet.

In a way I think it’s a game that suits the Hurst mindset. He gets some criticism for thinking too much about the opposition rather than focusing on our own strengths, but it’s actually the games where the other side has gone to lengths to frustrate us that we struggle most in. Tactically speaking, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to suggest that he’s better proactively then reactively.

Personally, I think Friday will be a very, very tough game - I’d absolutely take a point of you offered me it. It’s unfortunate that it falls on the day Boreham Wood play Dover, Notts County play Kings Lynn and Dagenham play Barnet - all at home.

I don’t think we should be too despondent if we lose, but there’s a high chance that if we do 7th spot might feel a little claustrophobic going into the Kings Lynn game on Easter Monday.
