I was thinking, with Sousa and the two new lads scoring recently we can’t be far off having 20 different scorers this season.

Anyone know how many? Might be some kind of record?

Didn't Lennie get one against Bromsgrove?

Boyd has disappeared off the face of the earth since Hurst came in so he's definitely not scored this season. Grant hasn't scored has he? My only memory of him is someone coming on here after an away game and saying he didn't touch the ball once when he came off the bench.

Sam Bell scored at Dag & Red.

That was Halifax. And he didn’t, despite being on for the best 20 minutes.

Boyd was 15 & in the under 16s squad last season when Holloway played him. He’s now a first year YT.

So looking at Ginny’s  list, if take out Boyd and Grant, but add in LJL and Bell we are at 19.

So who do we think will be the player to take us up to 20?

The last person I saw look like that in a town shirt has just won the Welsh Premier League with TNS!

I see Sisay scored a hat-trick for Haverfordwest in the same division last night too! He has 11 goals this season for them and he looked like a competition winner when I saw him play for Clee Town!

Jones or Burgess are the most likely ones I think but Smith could easily pop up at a set piece. Crookes and Amos are yet to score too.

There’s something very much not right there, as he has good pedigree and played 20 times for Swindon in League One last season.

I doubt we’ll see him play again for us now, especially with attacking numbers coming back.

That Wrexham performance was absolutely brilliant and all 3 goals were worthy of a game at a much higher standard. Really, really hope Max regains fitness to play a part in the final phase of the season.

It was a really enjoyable match. I’m struggling to think of a game at BP in recent years where the atmosphere was THAT good. You’re probably going all the way back to our first game back in the league, against Morecambe. Not too much to choose from since in truth.

would he deserve to be in the Matchday Squad? not so sure myself

Not if Scannell carries on from Saturday, PH likes Clifton on that Left Hand side, Sousa has been a mainstay in the squad and then we've got JMD coming back

It'll be an unpopular opinion but doubt we'll see Max in a town shirt again

If he's fit enough to contribute I would like him in the squad because he's offered something in the very few minutes he's had this season. We saw against Halifax and Wrexham in particular that he's a very good option to have on the bench.

The OP asked if 20 scorers was some sort of record.  By my reckoning we had 21 last season. Only 4 names appear on both lists (talk about rapid squad turnover...)

Most in recent years was in 2012/13, when we had 23 different scorers plus three own goals. Funnily enough, one name appears on both the12/13 and 21/22 lists...

Two on that list also played against us the following season. Clue: it wasn’t Sam Bell, who would have just turned 11 when it started.

Shouldn’t be that hard to work out in fairness.

Two on that list also played against us the following season. Clue: it wasn’t Sam Bell, who would have just turned 11 when it started.

Shouldn’t be that hard to work out in fairness.

I'm guessing one is Ian Miller? Probably the most underrated player of our first time down in the Conference.

Boyd???
Grant???

Yeah, long day at work. Boyd was in 2020, so no idea how I came up with that.

I put in Grant because the OP mentioned him in his second post, so I assumed he'd scored a goal I'd forgotten about.

You know you’re getting old when you assume that when someone else states something incorrect, you assume you’d just forgotten about it 😁

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

That was my bad. I meant to say Scannell. My excuse is that I had a senior moment!

Agreed he was a great bit of business in the original Darlo fire sale. Always rated him before we signed him, he was a League Two player really. I seem to recall he struggled to win his place back after taking some time out after his wife had a difficult birth. Real shame.

However, since he’s not on the list of this season’s Town goal scorers, he’s not a correct answer.

I loved Miller, I never understand why we released him, he then went on to gain promotion with Cambridge after we released him.

I think he asked to be released as his family are from the Cambridge area and for whatever reason he wanted to be close to them.

Haha, I misread the rules. I thought you were asking for players who scored for us in 12/13 and then played against us the following season.
