Doubt it will happen in my life time if it ever happens at all but why not?

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Hmmm. ABP just happen to own much of the land on both sides of the Humber. Possibly not a coincidence they are calling for another bridge, this being the case...

Don't get me wrong, if a tidal barrier is built (seems a bit pie in the sky to me), it might be an idea to run a road across the top of it, but the cost of upgrading the necessary transport links in the North Bank especially would be absolutely massive as well as the cost of a barrier itself.

Traffic flow on the original one has always been lower than first thought. The original case was based upon a continuous road from the bridge itself, through Lincolnshire, to join the M11 around Cambridge.

The A63 and A180 diverted potential crossings from both sides inland. One East West road would have forced the other bank over the bridge, but two took away significant traffic flow. With the A15 not dualled from Brigg to Lincoln, and with the road not continued down to the M11, traffic flows just haven’t been there.

Can’t see a business case for putting another one up.
