Despite his age, think he was late 30’s, he oozed class and ran the game from a deep role! Class is permanent as they say and that was definitely evident!


I remember that game well for a few reasons. Firstly, my son had been born just a few days earlier and I’d barely slept a wink since - I think I literally fell asleep just before half-time.

Then Liam Hearn came off the bench, scored and then promptly did his cruciate right in front of me. Horrible thing to witness.

And also for this goal; short of Muzzy Izzet’s overhead kick I can’t think of a better goal I’ve ever seen at BP…
