The current issue of BackPass, the retro football magazine, has a five page article on Grimsby Town 1945-1970.  

At £5.70 it's a bit pricey, but the magazine is a pretty good read all round if you are interested in retro footie. It's available from W.H.Smith and online.

The article lists the best Town players, managers and games from that period and has some good pictures. Well worth a look.

I love Back Pass, when we where allowed to go on holiday I'd just order half a dozen back copies and sit by the pool with a large drink reading them from cover to over.
