Drakeford is a former Professor of Social Policy who has a good grasp of public health issues and is highly respected in Wales.
Johnson is a former journalist, known for his laziness, dishonesty and willingness to say anything which will benefit him, regardless of the wider consequences. Nobody believes a word he says.
I know which one I'd prefer to see directing public policy.
Good post that seems to have been tactically skimmed over by some. Fully agree.

They're all tyrants, the lot of them worldwide, with few exceptions. Covid's weakened to become a cold, no more no less. Chance for wholesale acquired immunity and the end of the pandemic, yet they're determined to keep the fear and control going. Now Omicron is here and Delta is on the wane and disappearing, fook the politicians, fook big pharma and fook the MSM..And fook the Covid lemmings.. "You don't believe you've been brainwashed and lied to because you've been lied to and brainwashed"
Start reading and researching, arm and educate yourself with facts..
You actually make a good point. But unintentionally. Maybe it is time to return to normal so that people like yourself can start to get some stability back in their lives and seek access to the help that they quite obviously require.

I hear a lot from, generally, divs about governments using the pandemic to “control” everyone. What does that actually mean though, relative to how much of your life is already controlled by the state?
Like, what’s the end goal from telling people to wear a mask (but being unable to police it, and with the maximum sentence being a fine)? How is that any more invasive than the well documented surveillance apparatus that monitors almost every second of your day, all your communications & all your movements? Or the fact that state bodies have recently been given legal authority to kill, torture or rape members of the public when they see fit? Or the fact that protest in this country has now been made illegal?
I’ve ignored most of the noise around this issue because it’s just boring. It’s mainly a load of boomer Facebook meme shíte from people who’ve had everything go their way their whole lives, and have lost their minds the second they’ve been in inconvenienced in a minor way. But all this “control” discussion is borderline offensive given that it comes from people who’ve usually said zero about the actual erosion of civil liberties in this country.
Re the bold print, proof please.

So your kids could be raped or murdered by a member of the Food Standards Agency, who would be completely immune from any comeback, if they could justify it on the grounds of maintaining “public order” or “economic prosperity”.
I’ll be honest, I read the first few posts of this thread earlier on then thought I’d skip right to the end just now. I wasn’t expecting this.

They would be an independent nation, dictating their own fate. Once 'divorced' the influence of London and the UK over Scotland would be no more than the influence over say Norway or Iceland, i.e none. The EU would gladly have them in, Scotland especially if only from a military strategic position. Independent of the Union, Scotland would have to apply as per Article 49 with the requirements that they meet the Copenhagen criteria, which they would as a former member of the EU (under the UK umbrella).
Don't see how the borders would be an issue to be honest. The only opposition I can imagine would be from the likes of Spain as they've got their own internal issues with separatist movements, but as long as the separation from London was legal it would go through smoothly.
The last thing the EU needs is another economic white elephant, look at Sturgeons economic policies and GDP.
