The government emphasis is on covid, but I would like to see figures for how many people have FLU who have not been vaxed and how many have died, not to mention the number of new flu viruses.

Also how many people are ill or dying or have died with cancer, heart problems, etc. because they have not had any treatment due to covid cases in the hospitals. Covid is bad but after near on 2 years, it is moving into the flu category of yearly booster jabs.

I do feel sorry for anyone who has covid and did not have a jab, but this is their choice not to have the jab, so why should they take up hospital time and beds when they choose not to be protected. These beds could be used by those who have been double jabbed and boosted, or by patients with hospital needs other than covid.

I’m sure you’ll get shot down or some sort of surly reply saying it’s impossible to compare etc but I have to agree and given that they’ve been recording deaths of covid for people who tested positive within 28 days of death, the numbers can’t be threaten entirely. I can test positive for covid today, see it off, then in first week of January get run over by a bus and it’s recorded as a covid death. Weird.

I know people have done their own research or have taken a keen interest, that’s their choice but throughout the whole ordeal it’s been clear that statistics and the like have been varied and presented in different ways to suit whichever agenda the government/a are pedalling at that time. Whitty gets trotted out as some expert but clearly toes the party line, again, bringing in to question some of his validity.

I know of two people who have had testament/operations cancelled because of covid, one of which was lucky that their illness didn’t develop, it could’ve done but thankfully didn’t. I’m not really sure simply using covid as an excuse to cancel treatments or operations is ok. It’s also not ok for the government to guilt people in to having a booster or indeed a vaccine, which is their choice by saying they’ll fundamentally be lending a hand to the cancellation of treatments etc.

It’s a mess and you simply can’t trust anything the government say. If I’m honest, the thing that’s appalls me the most is the level of cronyism that’s gone on and the country have seemingly done little to challenge or stop it. Literally billions of public monies in to the pockets of mates of tories is disgusting. They’ve taken the urine throughout yet push the guilt on to us and people fall for it…

Anyway, I hope we play and it’s another game home and Mcatee closer to playing again…

I’m not sure anyone is doubting it’s real, I appreciate there’s some whackadoodles that think it’s not real but just because someone believes, and understandably so, that governments are over egging it or doesn’t want a vaccine doesn’t make them deny it’s not real.

I guess for every story like this, there’s the opposite, I’ve spoken with nurses who mentioned empty wards and the like…

It’s nigh on impossible to trust anything published about covid and in truth it’s simply polarised society further, more than Brexit for instance…

Only this week they’ve introduced the whole ‘work from home if you can’ mantra, millions still physically going to work whilst some don’t, for some it isn’t an option and for those worried about covid it strives to only increase their anxieties.

It’s a mess that will never dissipate but polarising measures and a society turned against itself won’t enable any light at the end of the tunnel…

It’s only going to get more divisive in the coming weeks as the data becomes nonsensical. Regardless of how serious or otherwise Omicron transpires to be in practice, there’s going to be a point in the near future where somewhere in the region of a quarter of the country has it at the same time.

That means there’s a 1 in 4 chance that anyone going into hospital and / or dying, be it from a heart attack, car crash, cancer or Covid, will appear in the statistics as being infected.

Expect to see some scary charts in the weeks ahead, but be sure to dig beyond the headlines for their deeper meaning.

Ie it’s a load of hysterical nonsense.

Lets ruin the country’s economy just to be on the safe side though.

One of the epidemiologists on twitter who posts commentary on the reports published mentioned that we are likely to exceed testing capacity around the middle of next week. Testing capacity is 800,000, give or take a bit. We'll almost certainly see advice that there is no longer any requirement for a confirmatory PCR test following a positive lateral flow test. You almost no false positives with the LFTs, so there's no point in 'wasting' a PCR.

We'll probably only be able to have some sort of an idea of the prevalence over the course of a month or so through the seroprevalence surveys the government carries out.

You can bet your bottom dollar nobody will pay attention to what you've said because it doesn't fit their 'war effort' narrative. At best you can expect ignorance, more likely prejudice though.

To be honest, it's to be expected. It's basic psychology.  The more you fear, the more you look at ways for security. To some people, they discard facts on the dangers of the vaccine as they only want to quell the fear.
You only have to look at the promises that have been consistently broken
"Covid passports will never be a thing"
"You will only need one vaccination"
"Vaccinated people are much less likely to be hospitalised " ( This has already been proven false by many Doctors, nurses and other professionals )

Another danger we are seeing is some form of witch hunt against unvaccinated. Regardless to the reason for not being vaccinated it's becoming apparent that some are forming hate speech against the unvaccinated, and saying things like " it's their fault if they die" or "unvaccinated shouldn't be given healthcare or benefits". This is basically how hitler got Germany to hate the Jews... segregate a nation and make the segreated minority look as though they are vermin... And before you say that's ridiculous to compare. I'm not talking about necessary violence,  more the mentality side of things.

Of course, the other issue is that the majority of nurses are unvaccinated ( hmm I wonder why?) And they are part of this directed hatred. Yet last year most people were clapping them and thanking them for saving lives...

It just amazes me how poisonous humanity can be sometimes and people really should use this opportunity to look at themselves and ask " How did I react to my fellow person during the pandemic"...

Unvaccinated people being compared with Jews in Nazi Germany.

That’s quite enough Fashy Fishy for me today. Toodle pip.
