Anyone noticed that Chesterfield just scored again with a top non league striker we failed to land. PH knows what we need. Just can’t land one. Let’s hope it’s not the reason we fail to get out of this horrible league.

He’s just scored again. Presumably that’s more red crosses for me. Pathetic.

intercourse chesterfield. Furloughed players and used government funding to pay them whilst signing other players.
They’ve had a urine easy start

This obsession with wanting a striker is as tiring as the obsession we have with Bogle and Fenty had with a new ground…

Seems to be scoring all the goals for them but they blew a 2-0 lead today.

Bedwetters out in force tonight.
Chesterfield splash 250k on a striker to rescue them a home point against Torquay. I would rather keep that quarter of a mil and smash them away 3-1 thanks.

Does anyone else score for chesterfield? Only ever seems to be him…they’ll be bollocksed when he gets injured.
I mean aside from circumventing furlough rules and spunking far too much…

He's scored nearly half their goals which is great but you have to wonder how they will do if he's marked out the game or injured.

We definitely need a pacier option up front to stretch defences.. not critical at the moment, but will round off the squad nicely..

We’re in a good place overall, if we could get someone who could return say 1 goal every 3 games add that to the amount of players chipping in with goals we’d be unstoppable.
Not desperate at the moment and I think Hurst biding his time is right at this stage.

Yep, a player who will punish mistakes - Tshimanga would have been ideal, but not at the cost of part of the rest of the squad building we've done. Chesterfield could be in trouble with one serious injury, whereas we can handle maybe 3 including Grant and Scannell.

Gotta say we do need that centre forward, but we are also desperate for a wide left attacker. Scannell is good enough but he isn’t going to be fit long enough.
We could have had Vernam for 50k I understand. That would have been an immense signing.

Really? He has been Bradford best player so far this season according to some on their forum, were they trying to get rid in the summer?

Not sure about that. I was gobsmacked, like many others, when our previous wise custodians released him when we had the option on his contract. However he has a less than impressive record since then - 5 goals in some 40 games. He wasn't in the Bradford squad yesterday so either he was dropped or more likely injured again.

Tshimanga is a very good striker and repaying Chesterfield with goals. As someone pointed out if he gets injured then who are they going to get to score goals. Likewise, somebody pointed out a striker who hits the net every 3 games would be good for us, and I agree. But what happens if he gets injured?, paying big money does not always get you consistency. We haven't had a No 9 for 7 games and haven't lost ( yet ) and 3rd in the table.
Yes, a No 9 is needed but not as a matter of urgency.

Must of us are saying the same thing, but to add to it I'd suggest to be champions we'll probably need that no. 9 of the right calibre at some point. We can't afford too many dropped points against bottom-half teams home or away, and poaching goals from loose balls in the opposition box, when they're parking the bus is what we'll need to avoid that.

Maybe a bit controversial, but I think this all round number 9 (scorer, hold up, link play) is not available within our budget. We have already shown we are not reliant on one player and our style of play doesn't lend itself to a 25 goal a season striker. Our set up means that the front one of the three is there to create space for the two wide players and the attacking midfielder. If he (be it Taylor or Lenny) weighs in with 15 then great.

We need an additional striker, we cant limp through with only 2 , especially two of similar attributes. With Max Wright potentially looking like having a stop start season, given his ability to impact from bench then we could do with a similar style replacement IMO, quick, direct style player.
We have had a good start so far and with numerous scorers its healthy but we cant rest on our laurels and maybe find ourselves in the middle of a dry patch , losing points whilst we then decide we really need one.

Agree, cover in a wide position. We have arguably 3 who can play through the middle. Taylor, Lenny and McAtee.

This poster has a lot of crosses because they are not a happy sheet. The post is correct we need a striker who will be the difference in these tight games. This is a tough tough league or have we forgotten about those six years last time round.
