Just wondering what people thoughts are on how many will be making the trip down there after an impressive start? I'm heading down about 630am and coming straight back with my lad. Hopefully we can continue the unbeaten run I'd personally be more than happy with a point.

This could be like the old 'role call' threads we had on here years ago.
Anyone else remember them?

2 × n.marston mariners,
2 x Risborough mariners
1 x Oxford Mariner, who is picking up 1 × Melksham Mariner on the way

Think there's half a dozen on the London What's App groups going

I remember in about 1977 when 15 years old  hitchhiking into Grimsby from Caistor one Saturday morning. On the way back got a lift with three town fans going to Torquay away. In the short journey they persuaded me to go, waited whilst I ran in and told my mother I had met some people I knew from the football and persuaded her to lend me some money and let me go with them ( I had never met any of them before).
We blatted down their, got their late and then after my first visit to a nightclub slept in the car. On the way back as we approached Lincoln they told me they had to go and visit their mate in Prison. At that point I suddenly hoped I got home safely!

Never been to Torquay and one of the many grounds I would like to tick off, currently on a shutdown at work.
Could be worse, could travel down all the way to Plymouth only for the game to get abandoned due to a loose corrigated sheeting

Torquay looking and sounding like a beer desert. If you're going by train sounds like it's welll worth stopping off at Newton Abbott. Tuckers maltings, Teign Cellars & Ye Olde Cider Bar (great place that) have all been recommended by ale aficionados

have just found my pre Covid Good Beer Guide.
In addition to the above there are 2 mentioned for Paignton - Henry's bar on Torbay Road and the Isaac merritt on the confusingly named Torquay Road
Torquay itself gets 3 entries - the Crown & Sceptre on Petitor Road, St Marychurch, which looks like its only about 1km form the ground,
second is the famous Hole in the Wall. which is hidden away close to the Marina and finally Kents in Ilsham Road,Westwood.

Crown and Sceptre looks rather nice , so may well give that one a try

I’d say we will have in excess of 500 there.

That’s fantastic support for step 5, especially considering the distance. Teams one league above, probably 2 for that matter, wouldn’t cover those distances in the numbers we will take. Everyone that is there tomorrow, deserves a huge amount of credit.

To keep your Henry V theme going: sit back, wait for their charge, and unleash the arrows.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,

Nah, apparently the Torquay defence is all over the shop and the manager has said he's giving the same combo 10 matches. Plus it's my first match of the season, so I want a win. Reckon it'll be tough though, last year's playoff finalists so obviously got something about them.

Maybe they are like Rangers and can't perform in front of fans. Their home results have been shocking.

I’ve got a mate from reading who went to Maidenhead v Torquay last week . He said Torquay were crap and lucky to hang on for the win after being 4 up at half time

Me too. Wish I was there.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.
