Now we are in a successful run it would be foolish not to add a striker who has proven goal scoring ability from whatever league, no investment soon and injuries could dramatically turn our fortunes regarding getting out of this league first time

It’s not a case of dropping anybody, the incoming player would need to work for their place. If Taylor gets injured we don’t have a fit senior striker, the fact the OP has so many red x’s is strange, you’d be mad to think we didn’t need another striker.

Probably because he's stating the obvious. We all know we need a new striker; Hurst knows we need a striker. It's finding the right one that seems to be the problem, as PH has stated many times.

What if they came in and then got injured?

You could say that about literally any signing, not sure what point you’re trying to make? Should we not sign one in case they get injured?

That's my point. It's all a bit hypothetical isn't it? Seems to be a lot of 'what if' but there are a million permutations/scenarios that could play out - so why get so unnecessarily exercised about this?

A slightly more illuminating conversation would be who, rather than if (it’s patently obvious we need another striker). It’s slim pickings now in terms of free agents, so the likelihood is that you’re looking at a loan from a league club.

Hurst indicated at the weekend that he had a couple of options on the table but didn’t sound particularly satisfied with either of them. It didn’t sound like he would be rushing it based on our short-term lack of options, so we may have to wait a little while yet.

We could (should?) have had 6 or 7 on Saturday Build up was great football  Sousa looked excellent and McAtee and Taylor will be a handful for most defences given the service.

I'm more concerned about the 3 we conceded TBH

Of course we need another good striker, but the good results have given us a bit of breathing space to avoid panic buys.

Of course we’d be in a better position if the former controller of the club hadn’t demanded transfer fees to accelerate the repayment of his loans.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.
