When will we know if next Saturday's game against Weymouth will definitely go ahead?
P.S. need time to think of an excuse not to go shopping with Mrs Grantham Mariner if it is off.

See no reason for it to be off, isolation is 10 days. Club has been advertising corporate meals etc too.
Wish they’d let people know though, exiles etc need to make plans

Worryingly the ‘next up’ panel in the newsletter on Friday was for the Stockport game Tickets still on sale for Weymouth though so hopefully that was an oversight of some sort Would be nice to get confirmation before buying train tickets

They can’t confirm it’s on until it’s kicked off in the current climate can they really?

Debbie told DN35 that the Weymouth game is on "at this current time" Players will be due back this week some time. When that is depends on when the 10 days started. If the players come back Thursday and one tests positive Friday, which is possible but not likely, then the game will probably be off. We also have to factor in that although we've been isolating, Weymouth haven't and they could get struck down with it. I think you will find a lot of the non-STHs buying their tickets last minute to save the hassle of getting refunds for Tuesday nights.

That’s basically what I was saying. It’s not unrealistic that another of our players could test positive on the first day back but even so that would hopefully be only one. The players will still have been in contact with family or housemates etc in isolation. The club can’t confirm anything longer than the next 24hrs currently which isn’t great for those making long journey’s up.

Other than those positive cases, anyone they live with like partners don't have to isolate. Until isolation rules end, this is going to happen constantly.

One thing I don’t get is that premier league teams seem to get positive results yet it doesn’t affect their games. Aubamayang and Lacazette tested positive before the Brentford game yet that went ahead, Pulisic this week yet they played Arsenal today. Everything seems all hush hush at our level and games cancelled left right and centre. All seems odd to me.

It's almost like some clubs ensure their players don't have more than 15 minutes contact with each other so when one tests positive the rest are okay to play. But according to our CEO we did everything we possibly could...

Things don’t add up, look at the fiasco at the Euros with Billy Gilmour testing positive and 2 England players having to isolate while the Scotland squad carry on as normal. I’m not saying town have done anything wrong, or the PL clubs for that matter, I just don’t get the disparaging difference.

Been confirmed that players expected back in training and match should go ahead. Promise to let fans know if any change A.S.A.P.
Difficult to accept that we are being told what is happening at GTFC, but great that it is.

You’re not suggesting this has been a farce since the get go…remember last season when they were wiping down goalposts? I suspect with the lack of scrutiny and media attention at our level you can probably sail a little closer to the wind with calling games off etc…

Does anyone know if the players who tested negative have been training in the meantime? Surely, they have?

Depends how big their house is I guess as they are isolating so can't get out of the house. The most some may be able to do is a few sit ups in their living room followed by some laps of their garden and a few kick ups. Not ideal and will definitely take away some of the benefits from pre-season.

Surely some of the squad are double jabbed and negative though?

Maybe, but what if the coaches/management team aren't? Either way it's not ideal preparation and the pre-match interview this week might give us an indication just what impact isolation has had on the squad.
