You’re quite right to call that out - I wish we were bottom of League Two tonight.

Putting our own plight to one side, speaking completely objectively Scunny’s problems appear to be coming home to roost. They lost comfortably at home to a Swindon side in disarray themselves, and a quick glance at their lineup today reveals a very young inexperienced side.

Years of massive overspending to no avail has left them in a real state, and I do think that IF they come down this season they will be less well equipped than us to return.

We can’t change the fact that we are not in L2 this year….but I can’t be sorry seeing Scunts at the bottom of a league we are not in.

Actually, if we go up I'd prefer them to stay up, and if we are talking about a Carlsberg season, I'd like to see Stevenage and Forest Green relegated, with Lincoln, Rotherham, Donny and Wednesday coming down from League 1.

A really good friend of mine is a ST holder at scunny. He would say exactly the same. The similarities between both clubs recently are there too. We just never overspent, but chaotic leadership, bullying fans, weird contracts and plummeting at a rate of knots all line up.

He genuinely believes that had last season been three games longer or Town had pulled it together a couple of weeks earlier than we did they would’ve gone down. He’s expecting them to go this season but worries at how long they’d be down there.

Whilst it’s great to see rivals struggle I can’t help but think I’d happily be sat bottom in the football league this morning instead of being non league…again…

I’m old enough to remember when there was no league table issued until 3 games had been played. When did that stop being a thing?
