Apart from wanting a win, I hope it's a better game to watch. I fell asleep after 30 mins of the Austria game.

I'm not going to lie, I don't recognise half of those names in the starting 11! But in fairness I only follow Town.

Great save by Sam Johnstone to be fair.

Better save by their goalie from the pen. Henderson was rubbish.

We have lots of talent, but doubt we have 8 world class players in our squad needed to be winners. Happy to be proved wrong.

Arguably Portugal only had 1 when they won it and he didn’t play for most of the final. I think we have the talent but as we usually have the best players either jaded or injured we never really play the same side twice in a row which hurts us more IMHO. Though some have criticised him I think resting the players who played in the Champions League final was a good move by Southgate.

Trying to score ? He didn’t do anything stupid , just hit it at a good height for the keeper who went the right way

Sam Johnstone did a good job but you could only say the rest of the defence was adequate. As far as the attack is concerned it left a lot to be desired when a pen is needed to score a goal.
Henderson comes on, hasn't played for ages, gets the captains band and decides to take a pen. Hasn't been on the pitch for long not really in the game but takes the ball of CL. Makes a right c ock up of it.
A win is a win and I'm sure the next game will have a totally changed line up but this game wasn't any better than the Austria one. Romania are not the easiest team to play against but our attack has to break down their defence which we failed miserably.
Are we going to win the euro's, not on these performances but having drawn Spain in the sweepstake I hope they do.

I see our friends from north of the border could only manage a single goal against the mighty Luxembourg, despite playing against 10 men for an hour.

The reports say 'England see of Romania' . The media are at it again. For all our possession we didn't create much. If Romania's strikers could finish better we would have been thrashed. They broke with speed and carved us apart. Missed one sitter, created a magnificent save and should have had a penalty.

Having watched the whole of the Romania game, not falling asleep as I did with Austria match, we have only scored 1 goal in open play. Not that the play was riveting to watch with a non-existent attack and a defence that was lucky not to concede. I then read that Southgate has taken a leaf out of the Holloway/Fenty guidebook of football. He is arranging a darts match and a BBQ. Apart from Private Godfrey, above, we also have the comment from Private Fraser of Dads Army 'We're doomed, we're all doomed'. I want us to win but on the current 2 displays, Private Fraser may be right.

I'd have to disagree with you here Rick12. Backend of the season he has been poor. He is one of the most frustrating footballers who has bags of pace but doesn't use this enough for me. Instead runs towards the byline stops and passes it backwards. Don't get me wrong when on form is a good player.

Makes sense not taking JWP for a team that relies on set piece goals once they come up against anyone half decent at the finals of a tournament.

Rashford and Sterling have not played well consistently all last season. Southgate should (in my view) pick Grealish and Foden with Kane up front. This is based on current form and their form last season.
Southgate is a traditionalist and loyal to his players. He will pick at least one of Rashford or Sterling to start against Croatia,
