Genuine question, why are the San Morinians (if that’s correct) allowed into the country, I understand it’s a World Cup game so in theory classed as “elite” sport but, I understand most if not all of their players are amateurs, eg postmen plumber etc. So unless they have all been in isolation, along with all the coaches, physios etc,fo4 the last 7-10 days, surely they pose a risk. Don’t forget Europe is heading into a third wave. Also, why play this game at Wembley, a decent championship ground,eg Brentford’s new one would have been adequate and probably cheaper in running costs for the evening.

Could have been 7 or 8 with better finishing,
They look tired now so we will bag another 6 or 7 in the last 30 minutes.
Was it San Marino Macca wanted to play for ?

I think Southgate is looking to throw on Parslow to close the game out second half.

Within elite football, as long as they have the required covid tests like English players have to, what is the problem?

Imagine Paul Hurst watching this? He'll be tearing his hair out now at the England players attacking with freedom and not showing much interest in their defensive duties, he's probably turned it off in disgust!
Said to his wife and kids "I'm sorry we can't watch this, far too attack minded, what are they playing at, I am disguted with them" and he turns off the TV and in a fit of rage stomps out the room slamming the door
Before people start crying and red crossing. It's a joke...

Total hypothetical question really, but do you reckon Town would beat some of these minor countries like San Marino, Andorra etc?

I doubt it. Look at last night, San Marino got beaten 5-0 but I think that England team would stick 10 past us. Can you imagine our defence against the physical presence and movement of Calvert-Lewin and Sterling?

I haven't the foggiest idea where your coming from. My post was in relation to :- Quoted from Les Brechin Total hypothetical question really, but do you reckon Town would beat some of these minor countries like San Marino, Andorra etc? I doubt it. Look at last night, San Marino got beaten 5-0 but I think that England team would stick 10 past us. Can you imagine our defence against the physical presence and movement of Calvert-Lewin and Sterling? As you can see my post was about how many goals England would score against us, us being Town, and nothing to do with San Marino's keeper or poor finishing.

We did OK with 10men against a full strength palace team with an ex England manager a couple of years ago Mind you, we did have Reece Hall Johnson pulling the strings for us back then. - Notice he scored for Wrexham in their last game 3 from that Palace game started against barrow
|
| Christ you all wanted him sacked a few months ago. 6th place finish and he's now the messiah and can do no wrong Update: I think I've got this right - He was the messiah. He then wasn't. He then was again. Then it turned out he actually wasnt. He turned into one big huge messiah again. Now he's not actually the messiah we thought he was . Now I'm hoping he rises again quickly |

Watching England is so fuckin boring.
|
| In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions. Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them. GOD |

Lewandowski is out of the England match with a knee injury.
Great for England’s qualification chances. Bad for football and very bad for giving England’s defensive unit a proper test.

Is it because there’s no VAR tonight as I notice that the linesmen put their flag up straight away when there an offside, instead of waiting many seconds as per the premiership.

Well it wasn’t the pressure of big crowds or Poland’s great striker that contributed to the error.

Stones has always had that mistake in his game. Gets too casual on occasion and fooks up.

Good finish from McGuire to be honest.
I have to say Sam Matterface does my head in.

Agreed. Makes me long for Clive Tyldesley.

After 3 games Germany behind Macedonia (after just losing at home to them) and 3 points behind the world-beaters Armenia. Will have to come back well to make sure they qualify.

Southgate rather lucky tonight. A decent enough first half and a deserved lead, but we just looked clueless after Stones did a Stones. No idea why he didn't bring on subs before the winner, but a goal from a set piece saved the game. Good finish from Maguire, mind.
I've not watched a great deal of football over the past 18 months but my thoughts after paying a bit more attention tonight are that Mount looks an intelligent footballer. Can't really see the point in Phillips who is OK, but not as good as Rice in the defensive midfield role. We shouldn't be playing with two defensive midfielders in home qualifying matches, even against half-decent opposition.
Kane is a strong and intelligent player but lacks pace and, other than Sterling, I thought tonight's team was lacking pace and power in the attacking areas. Pretty lightweight in a few areas, in fact, and we're not nearly good enough at the tiki-taka stuff to make up for this absence.

I don’t know what Jose has done to Kane but in the last 2 England games he’s been involved all over the pitch apart from where he’s meant to be in the penalty box. You can see what Southgate is trying to do as I think International football is usually possession based and I like that they all seem to want the ball but to win something you’re probably going to have to beat at least 2/3 top class teams in a tournament so there’s plenty that remains to be seen.

Kane certainly looked worn out for the last 30 minutes but then most of the others did as well. Nothing wrong with a forward dropping deep if the midfielders are running on past him but Rice and Phillips didn't get into the box unless it was a set piece so we were left with nobody in the box. Rooney was guilty of the same thing too often as well and would have scored more goals if he'd had a manager telling him to keep his backside out of midfield most of the time.
Like Rooney, Kane is an intelligent footballer with the ball at his feet but if you're a goalscorer, it's even more intelligent to be a goal-hanger if at all possible.
