Looks like he could be out for the rest of the season now:

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

As much as he seems like a sound guy and as much as I wanted him to succeed at Town, it's not a big loss is it? Has only ever shown sporadic flashes of what he's capable of.

Does he deal end this summer?...poor lad would be lucky to get a new deal, another promising new hope probably gone to the dogs and will surface in a couple of years time at Grimsby Borough or Cleethorpes Town.  Feel sorry for the boy

His season never really started, showed glimpses of promise, but too injury prone, feel sorry for the lad.

The length of time he’s been out it was unlikely he’d have been able to reach match fitness so he’s better off taking the summer to get himself ready for next season. He’s got to be worth at least a one year contract if he’s out of contract at the end of the season IMO as he’d definitely be good enough for the NL level.

I think he's been a big miss for us.
This could have been his break through season

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

When someone puts his heart and soul into playing for the club like that, and shows he has the skill too, it's got to be a loss for the club. Gotta feel for the lad too.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

I’d be happy for him to have another season if he’s under contract. There’s not many of the current team I’d say that about either.

Has great potential but needs a side that has real stability to progress.

He has effectively (or ineffectively) missed the whole season. A loss when we needed his direct running on the wing and putting his n something called crosses.

We have been ver6 unlucky with injuries all season.  Not on Liverpool numbers.

If you have a lot of injuries then you need other good players, good luck and ability to compensate.  Sadly, we have been bereft of all these qualities. Even with 2 different teams and managers.   Just look at our appalling goal-difference.

You reap what you sow.  We deserve nothing positive this season.

That's a huge blow, I was really hoping Max could come in for the final dozen or so games and provide fresh legs, if only from the bench, for Morais and Lamy.

Looking forward, next season is absolutely make or break for him.  Too many seasons that have been disrupted by injuries and little niggles here and there.

I think there's a real player in there, a bit of a throwback style of winger who will hug the touchline and run the legs off full-backs.  In the era of wide midfielders rather than wingers, this could be a real asset.  You can see that modern full-backs, who are often better at attacking than defending, struggle to handle this.

Hopefully he's one of many who will benefit from a proper sports science set-up at the club in the coming 12 months.

Local or not, i actually think Wright is a good player, and without injuries, has a good chance of making a career out of the sport.

Hopefully he comes back from it, and can be a breath of fresh air next season

He could be quite a handful in the NL. Definitely one to keep imho.
