Dont forget that Town dont kick off until 5.30pm tomorrow, so we have an extra 2 hours 30 minutes of waiting for the inevitable late goal lol
The time change was agreed early on in the season to allow for travelling time for the visiting team. The same kick off time was agreed when we played at Colchester.

Oh great, it means the despair eats into our evenings. I definitely preferred the 1PM KO, get it done and dusted and out of the way nice and early.

This seems a bit of an odd decision to me - a 3 kick off means Colchester would leave Essex about 10am and be back at about 10 pm. The kick off on Saturday means they will leave Essex around lunchtime but get back pretty late on Saturday night.

One of two things could happen:
Barrow win, and we go into the match seven points adrift.
Barrow draw or lose, and we go into the match with a bit of a spring in our step.
Not sure I feel comfortable waiting for other results to come in before we play. Knowing what we need to do isn't always an advantage. Earlier kick-offs, as much as I don't like them on Saturdays, makes it easier to just 'concentrate on your own game' as there's no way our lot can go into the Colchester match claiming they're not thinking of the results that have already come in.

And we play Tranmere at Blundell Park next Wednesday.
Don't know why but heyho.

Because Tranmere are in the EFL final at Wembley and don't play until Sunday. We can't have the poor souls playing 2 games so near to each other can we!

This raises an interesting thought along the lines of sports psychology, in terms of which scenarios players would perform best in. I'm sure different players would perform better or have stronger motivation in different situations. 1) Opportunity - i.e. if the other teams lose, we know if we win we will close the gap to a point. 2) Fear - other teams have won, so if we don't win we'll be even further behind. I know man management is a part of being a football manager and it comes down to the manager knowing his players. The problem is for us, Hurst is working with a new team so there'll be limitations to how well he knows each player individually. This has also got me thinking, I wonder if another role Hurst will want to add to the backroom staff might be a sports psychologist?

Easy Tommy; Option 1) "Keep us shape and maybe nick a 1-0 win" Option 2) "Keep us shape and maybe nick a 1-0 win to stay in touch"

Well as the players have known we have needed points for a couple of months now and havnt really produced many points as a result and we also arent very good at winning games when we concede first....it doesnt look like they react well to the being behind does it ?
If the other results dont go our way I fear the worst.

The weather isn’t the problem it’s the quality of the team and the management

Very true, and what annoys me is that we just never seem to benefit from having a strong wind behind us, we don’t seem to use it like others do, eg. long range shots, having a go from free kicks etc.

sodomist. I didn't know. I turned down 40 quid for an earlier start tomorrow to watch Town but now can't watch them. I even went out and shelled out a bit to have fish n chips to get me in the mood. On the plus side because I won't be watching, we'll win 4-0
