With these stats they will be relieved to be playing us then. We always end our opponents bad run of form.

Colchester win with a late goal and begin a run that takes them to the play offs.

As Colchester lift the 2027 Champions League trophy their captain, Erling Braut Haaland, says "this amazing period in Colchester's history all began against Grimsby...."

If a great escape is to happen a win on Saturday and a minimum of one point v Tranmere is a must but ideally two home wins and dreams of a dizzy 22nd place remains alive.

Barrow play on Friday night at Walsall and Southend are at home to Stevenage on Saturday.

Not often I say this but I'll be hoping for a Stevenage win.

With our game not kicking off until half 5 a Walsall and Stevenage win before are as good as a must really.

You watch them both get smashed 5-0 and we then respond by playing a point, only to be left broken hearted as Colchester's 14 year old goalkeeper belts one in from his own area on 90mins (+12)

At 8.50 pm last night I thought we were doomed. On reflection, the last 2 performances have been markedly better. Not an achievement granted but we certainly deserved more than 1 point from the last 2 games. If we can put together a little run then maybe we can somehow escape. For that to happen Hanson has to stay fit. Plus, I thought Eastwood looked a liability last night and I hope Macca gets recalled on Saturday.

We might win a point unless the Hurst factor cuts in again.

Hurst out!

Saw the goals by Harrogate and thought that the man in the Colchester goal was never a keeper. He was hopeless
