When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

That explains the delays there then, and Hurst saying the player wanted to come but it was complicated and didn't know if it would be sorted.

Did we actually pay for him ?

If so then such a clause , if it existed/ was removed unknowingly would have meant he was a free agent so we would want the fee back ??

If there was such a clause then we’d have a strong case.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Reading the GT report it looks like a case of fraud involving several players. Standard chairmen's response so I think they will be battening down the hatches and waiting for the Police to come in. This happened to me once and I proved my case. Football can do without this sort of criminal practise as it does nothing for the integrity of the game. It needs the FA to come down heavy on the perpetrator(s) with a custodial court sentence.

I wonder how the contract was initialed? If it's old skool pen on paper then surely they can get a hand writing expert to confirm whether or not it was LJL that did it? Sounds well dodgy.

By the chairman's statement in their paper it seems like they feel it's resolved with most players. Wonder how many brown envelopes are reaching back pockets over there right now before the lawyers get involved.
