New beginnings today. I’m sure you will all join me in wishing Paul, Chris, Ben and all the boys, all the best wishes in the world.

The fight begins today. There will be changes as the weeks roll out and they endeavour to keep us safe from the drop. I’m sure that like me, everyone of us is fully behind Paul and Co. as we dream of better things to come in the future.

Most important, I’m sure we all hope and pray of seeing enjoyment return in watching the team we love, and we  hope to be able to return to Blundell Park to help with our vocal support, as soon as we can.

Here's hoping Hursty has shown then how to "keep us shape" and we start his second tenure at the club with a win!..

Quite happily take a solid 0-0 today, not expecting fast flowing attacking football but hoping to see a formation we can understand, a style we recognise and round pegs in round holes.

Finally, good luck to Hurst, Doig, Davis, Moore and all the players, the up hill battle starts today!...UTM.ATAW..

Yes. Start with keep us shape.

Then bring in more constructive midfielders and strikers

It's not about luck though is it? For too long we have bumbled along with inadequate players and coaching staff, hoping for football fortune, with the club more bothered about balancing the books than developing on the pitch.

I'm angry that four and a half seasons after Hurst got us back into the league, here we are back where we started, only at the wrong end of the table yet again.

It would be nice to go into games feeling relatively confident of a result, instead of fearing defeat and further relegation woes.

I hope this new year is finally the start of a climb up the league and hopefully divisions. I'm fed up of being disappointed most games and constantly looking over our shoulders.

But yeah, good luck Paul.

Sentiments we would all echo I am sure.

Funny how coming from you though, it does not sound very sincere.

Of course we could replace those names over the last 16-17 years with Russ, Michael,Marcus,Mike,Neil, Graham, Ian blah blah but all the old problems would remain - a totally useless and in its latter days irresponsible board who have reduced this once great club to a laughing stock.

The future will indeed be bright for "Paul and the boys" once Fenty and co. have completely severed links to the club.

I am confident that Hurst will be able to turn things round.

It won’t be easy, and it won’t be quick. But he will keep us up I am sure.

Let’s just survive this season and look to build in the summer.

Whilst I agree with the sentiments of the post I still feel very uneasy about the poster himself...

He is obviously part of the old board and has his own agenda...

Maybe that is to try to defuse the anger shown to the old board and then hope the results improve with Paul in charge...

If they do and over the next few weeks we start to climb the league the old board will want to take credit for appointing PH and also (due to that success) it also calms down the fan base...

There would then be an opportunity for JF to make an excuse not to sell...  something he has wanted all along...

I simply do not trust anyone with connections to the old board  and would be very sceptical about any thing they say or promise...

That doesn’t do it for me, 0-0’s took us down in 2010.

Can't we just let it go now for the sake of the club?

Even with the old guard still on the board,  I can't see Stockwood & co getting dragged backwards. They will be too savvy for the old guns, and drag the club kicking and screaming into the new modern world. Can't see Day & co stopping the Stockwoods of this world, they simply have too much knowhow.

Time to unite and rally behind them,  not keep old feuds festering in the background all the time.

Sorry but I'm saying the rot needs to stop, if that means building from the back and correcting our horrific goal difference over the next 3-4 games with a few bore draws then so be it, can always sneak the odd 1-0 in there. The rebuild has to start somewhere and going gun-ho is not what we need right now.

The existing board are credited with PH’s appointment. It’s them that appointed him. That’s clear from PH’s interviews. He spoke to the consortium yes, but he made it clear that he was joining us anyway, no matter who the custodians are. Being very careful to point out that whilst things look promising for the future, there’s no guarantee that ownership will change, but then the existing board had plans in place anyway for the future.

A big well done really to John and Phil for approaching Paul Hurst and getting him back.

PN... or whoever you are...
And there you go... the deception is already in place...
Time for the fans to rachet up their opposition to a JF board continuing and putting the club through another 16 years of pure hell...
Stop playing games PN with our club and just be honest and in turn grow up...
