Whenever I watch the Town line up at kick off, I don't see any height or weight in the team.

I was impressed with Hewitt's performances at the back, and I thought it added a bit more pace.
I would get Mattie to play up front and start giving the opposition defenders problems, which is just not happening now.

Plus whilst I think James Tilly has potential, he should be given plenty of spinach.

After all Mattie is our leading goalscorer.

Look what happened to Malcolm Macdonald.
Full Back at Fulham to England centre forward.

Just re: what you mention with tilley, i was hoping that him and wright would have seriously hit the weights during the covid lay off, but they don't seem to. Both have talent but are too easily pushed off the  ball and for Wright in particular it might help guard against some of his injuries to have more strength.

I was thinking the same about Mattie he is our top scorer it's worth a try.

He is big and strong he can hold the ball up for Jackson and he can put the ball in the net.

We have got nothing to lose.

If he can do a good job it puts his value up as well.

Appreciate we are desperate guys but has he ever played up front? If not doubtful he would cause too many problems, however, I do think we need to try something different up front and given Sisay is supposed to be a big unit and is actually a centre forward you would expect he could put himself about a little and surely is worth at least one appearance!!!

He’s a centre back that’s bundled 4 goals over the line. I know we’re desperate but he isn’t a centre forward!

Did we actually sign that new striker? Ex Norwich?

Reminds me of when Stuart Pearce stuck David James up front

There's been a lot of good stuff posted on the fishy in the last week or so.

But Pollock up front? Come on.

Thats like saying Edwards cleared a shot off the line earlier in the season so lets play him centre back.

Having seen every game this season, you might as well have me play up front.

I don't think he's saying he is a centre forward. He's saying he should play there - Cos he's the best we've got. We're in dire straights. Something has to change. Keep doing the same thing will bring about the same results
Incidently, lennell John Lewis is still playing. So is Patrick Hoban - only 29. Could be Paul hursts first signings. Double trouble. They'd get the hair on the back of your necks doing something
Wonder what Rob Duffy is doing these days

Christ you all wanted him sacked a few months ago. 6th place finish and he's now the messiah and can do no wrong
Update:  I think I've got this right - He was the messiah. He then wasn't. He then was again. Then it turned out he actually wasnt. He turned into one big huge messiah again. Now he's not actually the messiah we thought he was . Now I'm hoping he rises again quickly

Mike Lyons was a disaster - and nothing good can be said of his tenure but it turns out this familiar criticism isn't completely fair, well the idea he just fancied playing himself up front isn't at least.

A good friend is a Toffees fan and when we spoke about this he said quite fondly that Lyons being put up front was a semi-regular tactic if they were behind or a breakthrough was needed and he was seen as being a game changer...

I pointed out it never worked for us - but it was interesting to get a different perspective.

I wasn’t exactly being serious about it. Hence the laughing emoji.

If we need taller and heavier then I definitely fit the bill.

I look forward to getting a call.

I've a novel idea. Why don't we go out and sign a decent striker or two with whatever it takes to get them here.

I remember Mike Lyons doing his exercises on a snow/ice pitch before kick off against Arsenal in the cup.

His downfall started when his assistant Terry Darracot? left to go back to Everton.

Incidentally, if one of our current strikers had scrambled 4 goals we would be well pleased.
fishboyUTM, I don't understand your reasoning.
