The preying thing is none of those revolutions are a shock...they’re well known but sadly people swallow the bullshit narrative from Fenty...

You can see and hear them now...

Great read.

It tells you all you need to know about the egotistical, tyrannical narcissist that has killed GTFC
Its OUR club Fenty not yours.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Again though, we’re not surprised. Didn’t we blame that intercourse up on someone/something else?

The clubs a mess, has been for a while. Anyone with half a brain has known this, those who have defended and supported the regime have Stockholm syndrome...

Good article. Confirms what many have suspected but didn’t know (apart from the McDermott story).

The Amond story of variants of has done the rounds since it happened. Hurst told me about that particular intercourse up.

It’s the sheer arrogance to imply that all these things are someone else’s fault...the club literally never takes any responsibility. It’s like they’re devoid of accountability...

I know it’s easy for me to suggest this but could it nearly be time for the clubs staff to go on strike ?

By putting fixtures at risk? They're already on minus 25%, scared about job losses and besides most of them are in Asda etc.

It’s the fact Amond has been prepared to be so directly quoted that’s the difference.

Don’t tell Fenty they can afford Asda! He won’t be happy until they’re ‘shopping’ at the local food banks.

But if Hurst really wanted Amond, don't you think he'd have asked for more budget to be spent on him? Green and Hanson are on a lot more than Amond was.

You might have missed this, but Hurst hasn’t been manager for a number of years and didn’t sign Green or Hanson.

The fact Fenty came out of the Macca situation, a relegation to none league and the other countless errors is worrying to be honest.

We were in the car park baying for blood when Bill Carr was in charge...

Just think, we could have had a striker who's banged in more for Newport than Hanson and Green combined, all for less money than each of them.

Now there's a prime example of why Fenty's penny-wise pound foolish ways have cost us dearly.

Hurst obviously got fed up with it and went to the mighty Shrewsbury.

A lesson never learned by the great leader.

I note Mattie Pollock and Luke Hendrie both have six months left on their contracts. How can that be allowed to happen? Will we not require a centre back and a right back next season? It's every single season and it is madness, it's no surprise we can't progress.

But honest John has a tried and tested approach...it’s had success...I mean look at the Padraig Amond deal...worked a treat...

The fact we didn’t sit Pollock down in the summer and sort at least a two year deal out, instead choosing to spunk ourselves over a ridiculous salary cap and pipe each other off because we included Covid clauses whilst sniggering those that didn’t...I mean great success they are...

Of course, perhaps we did sit down with Pollock and he said intercourse off to the no doubt excrement deal but so we honestly believe we were forward thinking enough to sit down in June with him?

Course not, we've lost pretty much every player of the year on Bosmans since JF became owner. I've no idea why you would allow your few salable assets to just run their contracts down, seems madness to me.

It still irks me to see Charles Vernam at a smaller club, reportedly over not a lot of money, while we have a left winger on loan who will use us for experience, make his mistakes here then go back to his club a better player while we still lack a left winger / forward.

We had one, he was brilliant, makes me sick.

And if IH hadn’t Been in it to make money (allegedly) then any integrity he had as a manager is questionable right there. That for me proves what others have said about the man all along. I was one of those that backed him thinking we wouldn’t get anyone better, but it’s all come out in the wash.

I don’t think being taken in by Holloway was a bad thing necessarily.

It was a natural reaction I guess, it did feel good and we did want it to work. I personally was never a fan but that’s not to say I didn’t want it to be successful.

Sadly, it just wasn’t meant to be and perhaps Mr Holloway lacked the moral compass as well as the other ‘leaders’ at the club. Sad really isn’t it...

Great article. The words of Podge and the bit about Vernam are the most powerful example of why we have failed to achieve success under Fenty.

"Hurst obviously got fed up with it and went to the mighty Shrewsbury."

So why would he come back to a club that currently resembles Beirut for chaos?

Has Hurst even commented or been approached.

Even though out of work I doubt he would want to come back, despite being the "popular" choice.

it was a very good article. It was more passion than craft, but I think that works for these times. The politically partizan stuff at the end detracted from it, for me simply because it wasn't needed, but it was still very worthwhile. I was always on the fence about Mr Fenty, to be honest. i saw him in the the club shop once a few years back, he was great with my kids, allowed them to step on the pitch, stuff like that...which for an expat like me was quite an eye-opener. Wrote to him a couple of times too and he replied in such a way that I took him for a proper GTFC fan. And, if I am being perfectly honest, I still think he is. But he has let himself down, badly, obviously in some very distinct ways. So much so that people who were able to give him the benfit of the doubt, now cannot.  I am in that category. I think there was a time when John actually controlled everything, but I think events have now taken over, he won't be able to out-run this shameful fiasco. Too many moving parts that are out in public, laid bare, dirty launndry etc. It's heart-breaking, really, even more than the defeat to Bristol Rovers at Wembley that left all three of my kids in tears while we were watching in Beijing. I will never be one to kick someone when they are down, even if they are my enemy, I suppose it is my curse, and I won't join in with the name calling. But you know what? I completley understand it, and if you need to do it, have at it, Mr Fenty has to listen, one way or another. I think his days are much numbered, and I will raise a glass to that. Take care fellow Mariners and here's to a victory at Morecombe. UTM!

Great article. The words of Podge and the bit about Vernam are the most powerful example of why we have failed to achieve success under Fenty.

Feel so angry but so powerless. Still can’t see him going.

I don't think he has any choice but to go really.

The fans have bankrolled the club in a way because he has kept costs down to a bare minimum. In other words our contributions combined with the standard income from the football authorities etc has meant he has not had to put his hands in his pocket.

The fans have now turned against him big style, some because of his mismanagement of the club, some because of his dubious business dealings in his wider role as an ambassador for Grimsby at the Council, and some who simply feel a change is well overdue.

The fans will now vote with their wallets till change comes; still rooting for the team to do well, but determined not to spend a penny more. If even say 40% of Town fans withdrew their financial support then Mr Fenty will have to start digging deep to keep the club afloat, with the chances of him ever recovering his loans and any further outlay vanishingly small.

There is now no way he can be involved in any regeneration, no new stadium and no money to be made there, so basically he is buggered. Add to that the sheer hostility he will face when crowds are allowed in, or more likely outside the stadium, then why would he hang on?

He has a perfectly good and generous offer on the table (if it is still on the table) in fact I cannot believe how generous it is as I have always felt nobody would pay him those loans back in any circumstances.

He then has to think of the immediate future - trying to entice a manager in these circumstances will be difficult and even more so with players as he obviously has an aversion to actually paying for them or making them feel wanted.

If the consortium want to buy, then a compromise will surely be found about the repayment of the loans. If currently it is 3 years as long as we stay up, then surely he would accept either a lower offer or increased time frame if we go down? It is after all, his responsibility we are where we are as a club.

PS I posted this seconds before a club statement saying he is staying! If he is that deluded, then RIP Grimsby Town.
