Something doesn’t add up

Now tell me if it’s just me, but....

Holloway and Club statement says and confirms Fenty is selling up. Holloway also says he has been contacted several times and this is the reason he’s leaving.

Shutes and co confirm they haven’t spoken directly but have told the club that they are supportive of him and the “project”.

Fenty now not selling up.

Only possible conclusions are a) Fenty has changed his mind or b) he’s selling to someone else. However if someone else was interested I would have thought we’d have heard a whisper.

I have this awful feeling there’s another buyer and they won’t be anywhere near as impressive as the Shutes consortium.

My fears are the same. Got a horrible feeling that there’s more to transpire in the coming days - Fentys version of a merry Christmas to us all.

Obviously this May character was all part of a set up. We might not be taking HIS money, but who's to say we might take the consortiums money he is part of?

Just pure conjecture on my part but it is all very odd.

Phillip Days latest statement seems to suggest it is Shutes he’s talking about.

Which leaves the question as to why we now seem to have rejected their offer!

Sounds like Fenty knows the game’s up but he’s clinging on for the January window and hoping for one last “football fortune” payday if Dembele goes.

Hopefully this is the fat lady warming up and it is now just about trying to screw a few more quid out of them. I do think the Trust need to be raising the shares that were gifted to Fenty. They were given as he needed control but there is reason at all for him to financially benefit from them - I can't see how he can justify that.

I have said more than once on here Fentys massive Ego won't let him let go.


In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.
