Should Ipswin be banned from this forum?

I am really drunk off with all the negative posting from Ipswin. He makes reasoned discussions impossible and spoils my enjoyment of this forum. Is anyone else tired of his endless shite?

I don’t like most of his posts but we live in a free society and therefore he is allowed to post whatever comes into his head.

We start banning people because we don’t agree with them then this forum would be a very dull place.

Absolutely not. You have to have other points of view otherwise it is just a back-slapping exercise.

This is a forum where you are going to get a difference of opinion, is that not what a forum is about? Its a very strong action to actually ban somebody is it not? Can you simply not switch off posts from people that you disagree with? Plenty don’t agree with me at times and Red Cross my posts, but is that not the beauty of a forum and the free speech it’s supposed to present?

Unless someone says something racial or discriminatory then for me banning them seems wrong. Sorry to anyone out there that disagrees.

He says what he thinks and nothing wrong with that even if I disagree with him the majority of the time.

He has as much right to air his opinion on this forum as the rest of us. He does tend to play devils advocate at times, but as they say variety is the spice of life.

Everyone is entitled to am oppinion on things . Different points of view are important in any subject . No banning just because someone dissagrees with another point of view

I disagree with the majority of what he posts, but he is consistant as intercourse and Only expresses his opinion. Therefore no. He should not be banned. He also wrote a superb book

If you did a poll of which 5 posters we would all like to meet for a pre match pint (excluding those you are already mates with) then Swin would be a contender. In fact, there might be so many we may have to draw lots!

What a pointless post. Swin has an opinion like the rest of us and it can be construed as negative but he's a good contributor to this forum and stimulates plenty of debate.

I have been sparring with Swin since the days of the old Electronic Fishcake. We met in a pub in Cambridge during Slades first spell as manager, survived the Cardiff play-off and numerous Diamond Burgers and pints in the Bull at Irthlingborough. The thing with Swin is that he doesn't give a crap about what has been said in this forum, he formulates his opinion of you when he meets you, he would never ask for somebody to be banned because they disagree with him. He is Town through and through and then through again and I consider him my friend.

Someone once said to me "FFS it's an internet forum for a poor football team, it's not real life" come to think of it I believe it was Swin. Maybe the original poster should remember that.

Should Ipswin be banned 100% no.

Is he perfect no but then who is.

Were all Grimsby fans here and excluding people is not the way to go. We all share a love for this traditional club and so are in it together.

Ive heard via people linked with the club that as a person Fenty is ok and treated them alright. Certainly is a fan at heart from what I gather.

I like to partake of liquid refreshment with characters and I think the old curmudgeon qualifies.

If we want the forum to become part of the bland, all-inclusive, colourless, never say anything that isn’t part of the prevailing orthodoxy, a ban would help achieve that.  But as devils advocate or not, the right to disagree/oppose the majority view must be a given

However I would agree in the banning of Richard Heads.

P.S. Cambridge is not so far, so if in town Swin, PM me (I’ll buy......a half if it’s something cheap !)
