Simple question. Would you be happy with this convicted fraudster, or anyone he's associated with, having any involvement with our football club?

Think there’ll be a bigger majority than the Knee poll on this one!

Would anyone who would be happy with his involvement be brave enough to offer an opinion as to why?

Said on the other thread, GTFC is dead to me if the board get involved with this charlatan....

I did vote no but if he offers Fenty  all his.Money back I can see him selling.

Sadly Pete I think the most important thing to Fenty is getting his money back. Anyone who genuinely cared for the club more than they did their money would have written off at least some of that loan. You don't buy a house, make it substantially less attractive through a lack of investment and poor management and then expect to get the same amount you paid for it when you sell.

His justification in selling to a convicted criminal as opposed to philanthropist Tom Shutes should be interesting.

It's almost like this convicted fraudster is looking for a way to make his money clean.

For me, the word ‘fraudster’ doesn’t really capture the problem. I mean, any fraud is wrong, naturally - but there are those ‘victimless’ types of fraud like benefit fraud, tax fraud and so on. They are indeed victimless in that no one suffers any direct, emotional harm.

But then there’s the exploitation of elderly people, particularly those that had recently become widowed. That takes a pretty special level of moral bankruptcy.

Get your point. Possibly it’s lazy to use the word fraudster but The Fishy swear filter would go rogue with some of the words I’d like to use. Suffice to say, it’s another notch on the bedpost of shameless behaviour carried out by the current custodians.

I would also argue Poojah, anyone who is willing to do business with said individual is as morally bankrupt. But I’m afraid the club have history in the morally bankrupt department: Andrew Newman.

The fact that he is even in the ground I find disgusting. If there is even a hint that this guy is going to be any way involved in the club, I think there would be a meltdown among the fans.

This bloke is dangerous  conned innocent ordinary people out their homes it's a recipe for disaster  why would anybody with a ounce of, common sense trust this individual  let alone trust him to invest at our beloved club. Time and time again we have contributed to save  Town and invest at our own exspence. ask yourself why did he change his name ? . Yes he served his time but how many people he conned got their money back ?  6.8 million scam  now get lost and seek your fortune at another club but not at Grimsby Towns before you know it we'll have no ground and No Football Club angry and worried UTM

You could argue that the directors are “employees” of the club. The con man however you cannot.

Wouldnt put it past them to try to get it back out the club as they dont have 10 grand between them , But i think, and i am no expert on theses things that that would be illegal in some form  imo.  And there would be a lot of people watching that closley

So Tom Shutes' offer/idea/plans are not what we want
But potentially taking cash from a convicted fraudster is OK
