I hope someone can be of some help here, I ordered an item off eBay on the 27th November 2020 and the item was due to arrive by the 3rd December, that item went missing so the company sent out another item which was due to be delivered on the 8th December but that tracking disappeared so I put in a request with eBay and they refunded me the full amount yesterday  (eBay money back guarantee) the funds have now cleared back to my bank account.

I’ve just received an email this morning off Royal Mail and they said the item will be delivered today, what will I do with this item now ? (now that I’ve had a refund) it’s quite an expensive item (it’s value is £330.00) I paid £186.00 for it with discounts.

Thanks in advance

Chris

I think that I would contact the seller to inform the that you have now received the item.
It's up to them what they do with that information and it will leave you with a clear conscience.

Yes that makes sense Andy, I’d never just keep something under these circumstances mate, I’d rather do the right thing but it’s a position I’ve never been in with eBay mate, that’s why I asked.

Yeah I know you wouldn't just keep it Chris. It's a strange one that's for sure.

Delivery times are pretty terrible for some packages sent via the Royal Mail at the moment. Some get through in a more or less usual time, but we're seeing a lot of packages taking up to 2 weeks. We've got stock replies to people asking after orders though apologising for something taking a long time to arrive doesn't help a great deal, even if you shipped it within 24 hours of receiving the order!

Definitely get in touch with the seller to pay if you haven't already ordered a replacement item from elsewhere. If you have they are likely to arrange a return for a high value item like that.

I do wonder how many people are going to be disappointed by items not arriving in time for Christmas this year. The impacts on the service due to lockdown and pandemic are really huge.
