I think we need to go all out and win on Saturday. More importantly we need to score - at the very least one goal - from open play.

The pressure is building now so I'd like Ollie to show some cojones of steel by picking an attack-minded side, intent on scoring goals.

Parking the bus and hoping to scrape a 0-0 bore draw just won't cut it. As fans we need to be entertained and vitally, believe that there are goals in this team. Easier said than done at present, admittedly.

I'd be tempted to go 4-4-1-1

                           Macca

Preston, Pollock, Waterfall, Hendrie (if fit?)

Edwards, Rose, Clifton, Tilley/Wright

                          Williams

                          Windsor

I also think we need to give both Scannell and Moshni a proper run out in a league game sooner rather than later.

Keep the faith. UTM!

Not doing IFollow so obviously not seen the team actually play this season, but from what people have seen do we have one midfielder that gets beyond the forwards making runs , or are they all defensive minded playing sideways balls and not willing to take a chance and ge5 forward?

Until the team get a proper Captain playing as an out field player then we will struggle, last night against Hull it was obvious to me there is nobody running the team on the pitch, you can't manage the players as Captain if your not in the mix with them.

                                Macca

Hendrie.      Waterfall.        Pollock.        Preston

            Clifton.         Rose.       Williams

           Edwards     Windsor.       Gibson

Preston needs to slot back into a back four, Hopefully Hendrie will be fit otherwise it will be Hewitt who was fit enough for the bench on Tuesday. Williams, Windsor and Edwards HAVE to be in the team otherwise we have nothing going forward.  Ive chosen that front 3 as that is a minor amend to what we played vs Cheltenham and has been our most effective attacking performance thus far.  Also welcoming back the industry and workrate of Clifton

Think we need to give four at the back ago with 3 in midfield.

For me;

                   Macca
Hendrie Pollock Waterfall Preston
       Clifton Rose Williams
Windsor     Gibson      Edwards

Only Clifton and maybe Williams if he is shoehorned in midfield.

What was striking in the game recently when Clifton was playing wing back or right back or whatever and he was moved into midfield for the last 15 mins (Was it Harrogate can't remember) is how he had more surging runs in those 15 mins than the other 2 midfielders had in the entire game put together. Nothing came off for him apart from the odd corner or throw in but he is the only one that tries to have game impact in that way you mention. Think one of the midfielders he replaced was Morton and he is in danger of becoming another james berrett - NEVER attempts to do anything otger than sideways backwards in case he gets caught out.

I’d like to see that, but I’d also like to see Gibson up front with a striking partner rather than in a 3.

I’m not sure 3 in midfield works for us currently, I’d go 4-4-2

                   Macca

Hendrie   Pollock   Waterfall   Preston

      Tilley   Clifton   Rose   Wright

            Windsor   Williams

With more subs allowed, consider bringing 3 on at half time depending on how it’s going (Edwards?, Taylor?, Sisay?)

Fair enough, wasn’t up to date re Tilley.  I like Edwards so get him in from the start. He might lack the end product, but at least he can take it past an opponent

Interesting that Green doesn't get in the starting line up, since last season Ive said he's ok off the bench but not a starter. We must start winning which ever team we put put.

He's 31 league games without a goal, shouldn't be anywhere near the starting lineup!

Nor the bench, for me.

Doesn't offer anything and I'd sooner see Sisay, Jackson or even a YT given a chance ahead of him, especially as he won't be here beyond this season anyway.

No malice towards him, he just isn't up to it anymore.

He might not be up to it but not many are much better. It wouldn't bother me if we got rid of all the strikers and started from scratch. It is a different forward line every match - no wonder they don't gel.

Definately sticking my head into the Lions den here but I dont think Green has been all that bad. I watched the game on Tuesday for example and he never got a decent pass from anybody all game and that's been typical of many games. Would agree with most if he was fluffing chances or missed controlling all the time. His hold up play has been pretty decent at times and he never goes missing even when it's not going his way.
I know Hanson is being put on a pedestal at the moment (not necessarily from us) but when he plays we just go route one all the time. I would like to judge Green and indeed all our strikers if the level of service was much better.

I have no idea about formations... we have tried a few and perhaps 3-5-2 is best?
This line up is only if all fit

Back 5 picks itself
Macca
Hendrie
Waterfall
Pollock
Preston

This is where it gets bloody hard
We have strikers who don't score; creative midfielders who don't create

Rose and Edwards are about the only shoe-ins
Then perm 4 from the rest
One more defensive type - Clifton or Taylor
Then Williams, Windsor, Tilley

Even after writing that I'm not sure

I think we can only have two defensive-type sitters otherwise we stand no chance of creating anything

Scannell, Bennett should be way more influential than they are - can't believe it is all a fitness issue

This is the reverse of too many players in form to choose from - we have so few in form

Completely forgot about Windsor, I would definitely like to see more of him in a central role rather than that wider withdrawn role.

As said on other posts, can't look beyond 4-4-2 for me.

                 McKeown
Hewitt Waterfall Pollock Hendrie
Wright Rose Clifton Edwards
           Gibson Windsor

I think Preston needs a rest, hence the switching over of Hendrie.  I like Williams but think we need proper width from the wingers with a bit of protection from the middle two.
