With the reports that Chelsea and Liverpool amongst others are watching Grist and Boyd, how would it work if they wanted to sign them?

Would we get anything from them? Would we have to offer them a professional contract if we wanted to benefit from a transfer fee?

I am none the wiser.

Someone please enlighten me.

Sorry what I posted wasn’t clear I heard Holloway last night but he never mention Liverpool or Chelsea which is the bit I was getting at, how do we know it was those 2 clubs?

Depends on the contract they're on I'm guessing they're not on pro contracts which means they could sign for another club and we would get "compensation" after a tribunal hearing so probably a 5 figure sum

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

Hull signed 15 year old Jack Barlow for £100k a few years back didn't they, just saying.

Always a gamble at that age and we know how that went.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Good luck to the lads if the club could get enough cash to supplement the salary of a decent partner for Hanson and the lads get a great opportunity then that’s a good thing.

In reality I’m just not sure why those 2 clubs would look at L2 academy players when they have ones the size of theirs.

Gouge out the whole hillside and that doesn’t throw up any gold, try the next valley and the next.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Because they are greedy arrogant twatts,  someone shows a bit of promise, they think buy him now for fck all, let their own higher level academy and coaching bring them up a level over 2/3 years and at 18 you have a cheap first teamer ready to go or you lose virtually nothing by releasing them...saves on trying to buy a £20m first team ready player at 18/19 yrs

And i think Middlesboro paid 150K for Burrell.  But not sure if Burrell was on Pro terms.

Could be wrong but I thought they paid £50k rising to £100k depending on incentives going forward.
