Exeter got 300 tickets for tonights friendly at Tiverton. I didn't realise fans were being allowed back into games yet.

So how come our Cleethorpes friendly was behind closed doors then?

Look North just featured return of fans at non league Brighouse. Playing our new rivals Harrogate in front of 200 fans. Bar and Toilets open.

A survey carried out last month by world renowned virologist Ian Fect from the university of life concluded that COVID 19 is not interested in non league football.

Although 300 fans where allowed in it wasn't 300 Exeter fans. It was first come first serve and they sold the tickets a few days prior to the game from Tiverton ground, they sold out within two hours.

I went to Cleethorpes Town on Tuesday night and it was so good to watch live football. The way it was organised, I don't see why we can't let fans in for the first game. Surely it doesn't matter if its a league or a non league ground?

Papas can be packed all day with people waiting in the bar area for a table with zero social distancing and thats fine but football in an outdoor stadium 🤷‍♀️

I would have a guess that if the first home game was unrestricted seating with away fans banned, we'd get 7,000-odd in and not a single person would get infected because of where we are situated in the country.  But, this won't happen, and my theory won't be tested.

Grounds below the National Leagues South and North can have fans in up to 15% of their capacity at the moment I think (it may go up to 30% next week). But they have to have a Covid risk assessment in place and meet various guidelines. Maybe Clee Town hadn't got things in place or perhaps they had contracted for TV coverage.

So small non-league clubs will be able to have fans in from the start of their season when those higher up the pyramid are laying behind closed doors.
