100% agree and extend my wishes of good health to all but particularly to those among us with long term illness and the elderly. At the end of this Town will play again and I want everyone there to see it.

I had to make a difficult decision earlier this week, before EFL made their decision.  To inform the club that I would not be able to fuliful my vouluntary duties looking after the Press room, due to underlining health issues that put me at the at risk category.

Oh what to do to this Saturday and many more, by the sounds of it.

We need to support each other, through this period.

Thank you everyone, I am totally overwhelmed by your kind messages in fact I am a little emotional!  I am not on chemo at present so hopefully I might be OK immunitywise.

I am actually more concerned about Mrs Swin as far as Coronavirus is concerned, the drugs she has to take orally and by infusion every 6 weeks leave her with virtually no immunity to anything

Once again my heartfelt thanks to you all and you all keep safe too.

As you know I completely disagree with your views Swin, particularly on the JF side, but if we all agreed the world would be a boring place.

Having seen family and friends experience cancer and/or other illnesses- goes without saying hope you can prolong life for as long as you can, and your wife, and have a few years watching the grandchildren grow.

Gets me annoyed the selfishness of others in looking after themselves and not considering those with ailments in current climate- ie stockpiling, understand why in a way as a self preservation thing - also understand why media is covering it as it is. And whilst on subject spare a thought for those who have treatment delayed, postponed, for the hospital staff pushed once more to the limits, for the elderly in care homes etc.

Human nature is ‘look after your own’ - which we generally do, nothing wrong with that - but doesn’t hurt to keep an eye on/out for others who may be struggling. In whatever way. Anyway..I digress..

Look after yourself and family Swin, take care.

I have known Swin for a few years only meeting at games but he is a good natured funny man, not a bit like he come over on here.  

All the best mate to you and the wife hope it turns out ok for you both, I am in the same boat with my wife she has several long term problems and her immune system is very poor at the best of times so we are self isolating.

Got to disagree a bit with this. Humans are basically weak animals that have ‘clawed their way to the top’ through teamwork - being prepared to take altruistic actions for the benefit of the whole. Call it enlightened self-interest. Better together.

Anyway, I’d digress too. Swin, you can be a right miserable sodomist at times, sometimes rightly, sometimes wrongly, but it’s the g[r]it in the oyster that makes the pearl 😉. You have your own mind - in a genuine thinking things through way rather than just being Van Veen-headed.

The support on the Fishy is fantastic, we don't know what each of us are going through and no matter how much we either bicker or what we think of each other when a fellow Mariner is up against it or having a tough time we rally round.

Hi Swin. I don't normally post on here but have a good laugh at many of the posts which includes a good number from you. I'm sorry to hear about your serious health issues and those of your wife. I very much hope you both keep safe.

I'm diabetic and have been for over 40% of my life now. I'm struggling with a respiratory infection that I've had since January. It just won't quite shift and that's down to the diabetes. I have a lot of empathy with you both.

Recent events have pretty much made me realise that whilst football is a big part of my life, getting through this is the most important. I think I may have met you briefly at Histon back in early 2011. Let's hope we meet again on the other side of this.

I'm sure there are many many more 'senior mariners' and those with ongoing illness on here who are all in need of our good wishes and thoughts at the moment

To all Fishies young and old affected by this virus in any way my thoughts are with you, just ride it out somehow, (although WTF we'll do in the absence of sport I don't know - I cancelled Skysports yesterday and I'm going stir crazy already)

If you've got any recommendations for a good book Swin, I'm sure lots of people self isolating would be appreciative  . All the best though, I hope everyone on here stays fit and well and that extends to their loved ones.
