A great shame - he's been one of Grimsby's most consistent home-grown performers of recent years...

These clickbait threads never go down well do they

As for Strictly I don't give a hoot, never watched it.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

He has good footwork but cursed by being too easily distracted off the field.

I started watching it because it wasn't X-Factor and there were cricketers on it, who did well, in the early years. He's leaving at the right time, it's total garbage now, but he probably delivered the biggest bit of PR for the town ever, in terms of exposure of the name "Grimsby" to millions of viewers. Not the best bit of course - that was the John Peel radio show after we'd won at Anfield...

Sad to see him go. I won’t any more be able to tell kids that I was his dad’s bitter rival on the Junior Circuit  in the late 70s, and had to retire early due to a career ending knee injury in suspicious circumstances.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.
