We all know you are a avid reader of the fishy is it not time you laid out the real facts on what the hell is happening to our club Have you interviewed anyone for the post of manager Is money going to be made available in the transfer window Is there really anyone slightly interested in purchasing your shares Why is the trust being silenced surely they are just as concerned about the current situation

Nice try cop but if you think he'll come out from behind his curtains you're mistaken... We all know he holds all the aces and he's waiting to be dealt the fifth and no answers will come our way.. We are treated like mushrooms, kept in the dark and fed politically altered bullsh!t, and shown no respect at all...yet without us, the reclamation of loans will never be furnished... So, over to GYFR to correct me and set us all straight.. Think this thread may just get taken down before it reaches page 2 though..

Perhaps a stand up row in the Upper is easier than answered reasonable questions from a few keyboard warriors, such as we were referred to at the last forum. I always fear a forum as we seem to have a catastrophic run of results soon after.

Sell up. Take whatever you need left out of the club you feel is necessary and fu(k off.
What's killing the club and creating apathy between the fans, is the £250k that is taken out each year to pay back a benign loan you made to the club. THAT benign loan payment is starting to very slowly kill this club, but, not only the cub, it's starting to make a lot of people dissinterested. You say you are a town fan, then how can taking that amount of money out of a managers hands help the club? Put yourself into our shoes as fellow supporters and see where everyone is coming from. Look at the gates each week and think about what is happening, start to listen to those that speak to you. The club is a symbol of the town and it's what makes many people have momentum and meaning. It's a chance to socialise with friends. It's a chance to belong to something in an bottom bitten community that has fallen to its knees. Give people respect for paying their hard earned £££ each week.

It think at the very least we deserve an update on what the board have done to recruit a manager, then again I suspect it will be a pretty short update as I doubt we’ve done anything yet🤬

They've done the square root of f@ck all Herts...they pinned the tail of the donkey on a picture of AL and hoped he'd turn things around this saving several thousands in management payments... Well, that philosophy has fell flat on its face because all I can see is a slightly better organised team which have the same problems we've endured for the past 2 seasons ..they cannot hut a cows backside with a banjo yet alone out a ball in the net...

Spend some money. Get not only the right person I , but someone that can get this club believing again. This fan base deserves a lot more than what your tenure has given, and you have a lot to live up to.
There's decent managers that may come for a price, push the boat out and get the right person in. Make a bond between the fans, board and players again
Get your own fu(king facts right and you might get some respect

I just wonder if we’re longing it out as we’ve still got the balance of a 6 month contract payment left to pay Jolley?

Was told yesterday that we have definitely interviewed Kevin Nolan, so at least 1 interview has taken place. I am inclined to believe the person that told me, though you can never be 100% sure unless the club confirm it. I suspect we have at least had conversations with suitable applicants by now, but if we haven't, we certainly should have.

I heard the same from someone who is around 75% right of previous inside info, saying he's the next manager..

So do we assume our package is not attractive, the six month rolling contract does nor appeal or the board thinks he is not up to our standard ?

6 month contracts just show the impermanence, short-sightedness, lack of long term planning and cheapo nature of everything about this club. It's like no-one has the the courage of their convictions, and everything is done with one eye on passing the baton, but not until all monies have been recouped. Sad thing is that with a bit more invested in better players and a manager, more money would be generated by better gates and going further in cup competitions. We could have a decent team and still make a bit of cash for JF to withdraw what he feels he is owed. How many teams in this league can get over 7000 through the gate? It will be halved again for the next fixture because the team never deliver.

Of course, in the real business world, you have to speculate sometimes Ginny but GTFC has not been in the real world for years. It's the plaything that's outlived its' purpose because running a football club isn't as easy as it looks. The current custodian's regime will forever be tarnished as the non-league era, the flag-snapping, flask-banning, fuckranting, fan-baiting era of failure. For too long, the clawing back of thousands of pounds that have been blown on cheap, poor managers who have had to spend over the odds to get bang average journeymen to come and play in a derelict stadium in a footballing backwater that's football heritage is now ancient history. Root and branch change in attitudes and investment is now imperative - but then it has been for too long already.

In reality speculation, whilst more than welcome, would only be a minimum requirement if JF was not reclaiming his loans at the rate of 250k per season. An extra half million investment over the last two seasons, would if spent wisely, have made a considerable difference to our results and thus as Ginny suggests would in turn have increased revenues.
Meanwhile over here Lincoln manage to get LNER to sponsor a renaming of Sincil Bank and new investors seem to appear on a pretty regular basis. Their attendance figures are remaining positive and they now travel in great numbers with 2500 tickets already sold for their visit to Sunderland next week. Under Moyes just over three years ago they faced a winding up order from the Coop bank and their future was bleak at best and in real danger of going under. The right changes in the boardroom, astute management appointments and look how quickly fortunes can change.
We need a similar new regime with a longer term plan and in-house and managerial appointments that can take the club forward. I don’t blame JF for not investing more into the club but it’s fair to say taking back money he has loaned does not sit well when we continue to stagnate.

So who do you want Swin?
Quite frankly mate I don't really give a excrement anymore I'm just past caring. Also I don't particularly want to see a groundswell of support on here for any particular applicant. Thanks to a number on here who for some daft reason got all excited about Jolley based on beating Malmo and making a vid about tactics on You Tube, Fenty gave him the job. I'll stick to saying who I don't want and we'll see what happens although some experience is a must after the disaster that was Jolley Frankly I don't think the manager exists (well not who would contemplate applying for the job at Town) who could make a silk purse out of the sows ears currently on the playing staff We are, once again, looking for someone to keep us in the Football League rather than actually taking us upwards

Brilliant post is that. I and others have argued for years that it is a change in boardroom level that the clubs needs to break the cycle of failure. We don't need vast amounts of money (though it would be nice) because relatively speaking we are well supported. Fenty stepped in when we needed his help which was much appreciated, but that was the pinacle of his reign. What we do need is a new board, fizzing with ideas to transform the identity of the club that we can all rally behind. They can work with their contacts and business people to get extra investment in. You have to ask yourself how a "successful businessman" cannot find, or keep, extra investors? There is absolutely no reason why we cannot be better and do better than Lincoln, with the right board who have a vision of the type of club they would like. What we have is a club in the image of one man, whose main business model seems to keep overheads to a minimum with a glaring lack of vision and any collegiate approach to the task in hand. If I thought for one moment Mr Fenty could be the man to oversee this transformation I would be delighted, but we all know it isn't going to happen so I do hope he can find a buyer very soon.

Brilliant post?? Just regurgitation of hundreds posted beforehand. Its blatantly obvious what needs to happen and has been for eternity. Now if it had realistic ideas of how to facilitate that...........

It was a brilliant post 'cos I liked it. The important thing about the post to me was it highlighted how a small club like Lincoln can transform their fortunes from a lower starting point than ours, with the right people in charge. Too many fans have continued to support Fenty, at least until recently, when like you say it has been obvious for a long time what was needed. There is life after Fenty; we will rise again, but we need a fresh board with new ideas and a blueprint of the type of club they want.

Too many fans have continued to support Fenty, at least until recently, when like you say it has been obvious for a long time what was needed. There is life after Fenty; we will rise again, but we need a fresh board with new ideas and a blueprint of the type of club they want.
Nirvana. Until then just carry on as normal. And don't assume the support for JF has waned.

How many teams in this league can get over 7000 through the gate? .
Twenty one, or 88% if you prefer. Only Salford, Morecambe & Crawley cannot (as yet).

Really? Normal has become settling for league status and, for me, that means normal is excrement. The reason John Fenty can’t sell the club is that it’s in the worst state it’s ever been and he wants too much for it. Before you respond by saying that the club is financially secure, I mean that the paying customers have never felt more apathetic and more disenchanted than now. Our latest, stated tonight, ambition is to get through to next season. Fking brilliant! That’s another half season ticket times three that I’ve wasted. And so it goes on....and on...the priceless cost of the Fenty years.

I'm sick of all the balderdash on and off the pitch us fans have had to put up with over the last 16 years or so. It never changes season after excrement season. BP just stinks of failure. Will it ever end???????
|
| In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions. Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them. GOD |

You misunderstand. My response was to the suggestion of the Lincoln model which will never materialise in my opinion. So in the meanwhile everything will carry on as normal as its done for years. Didn't you say earlier in the year you were not going to renew ??..................

I don't think it is too much to ask for to be honest - new owners after nearly two decades of failure, but I think we are aware it will be business as usual, sadly. Your point about Fenty's popularity is up for debate; it is certainly the case that he has lost the support of previous pro-Fenty posters on here, but perhaps the wider fan base does still have faith in him, but I find that hard to believe.

Fully agree that ownership is the key to propelling the club into a new future. Support for him is really interesting- there's no evidence either way.

I did renew and, in the vain hope that the club won’t always be run into the ground, will continue to do so in all probability. It’s the hope that kills you.

The drop off in crowd numbers stacks up against your statement about the pro Fenty brigade...you'd need to blind to not see that the apathy running through our club has been driven by the years of stagnation since he took over at the helm and I would say even the most staunch pro fenties are starting to turn now..you'd be mad not to...oh, and I am one of them, I honestly thought he had the clubs interest at heart but now I have seen the light.... unfortunately that light has become bright I can no longer see a future in GTFC under this regine, nor can I see any investor coming in under the terms he's imposed on the board...

I would think that the drop off in crowds is more down to poor results and what is on offer at BP. IMO the average town supporter doesn't care who owns the club as long as it offers decent football and good results. In the past, regardless of whoever owned the club, when the football was dire and poor results then the gates dropped. If the present squad started to get results then the gate will rise. OK some of the die-hard martyrs will not turn up while JF runs the show but more will come especially if we start rising up the league.

We have more than half our home games left and nobody is interested the next two games given the opposition will see slightly better than average gates due to the Holidays after that I fear the worst . The lack of urgency in appointing a new Manager has been yet another error of judgement from Fenty and his minions. Nobody seems to want the job other than AL and losing 0-1 at home to the worst Scunny side in decades is now being marked as progress. Someone once said a Manager is only ever 6 games from the sack that is unless they are called Neil Woods or Anthony Limbrick and a Clubs majority shareholder doesn`t want to pay proper money for a John Coleman or Ian Evatt in work or an Ian Holloway or Nigel Adkins out of work.
