...in his post match interview.didn't seem too upset or disheartened.perhaps that's just the Aussie way or as a professional coach he sees a completely different game to us. Bigged up the effort and hard work, which you might think should be just the norm, bit like us here mortals being praised for turning up to work on time and then actually doing a days work. Sorry ' mate'. but if you think that performance was acceptable then think you need to be 'exiting the building'' pdq. To be fair he did have problems with injuries Ogbu is out for a few weeks with a knee injury, Ludwig got taken Ill pre match, Hanson had a calf injury whilst green got injured 40 minutes in and then struggled before being replaced. If he desperately wants the managers role he did a damn fine job of hiding it both on and off the pitch!

The club seem to be very coy over Wrights injury. but to be honest i dont think he is the long term answer to anything realy.. too slight and easy to take out the game and be put back on the sick bench again

I don't know i it's only me but our form seems to have dropped off since wright's injury, it may be coincidence but that is how it seems. Not sure what Wright has offered but he is keen, quick and I think quite naturally talented.

Wright was a great outlet for us, let's not start attacking yet another first year pro for being 'too lightweight'. He'll bulk up in time, people develop at different rates.
I fully expected him to force himself into being one of the first names on the team sheet, the opposition couldn't handle him and cynically wiped him out. Its not his fault they dirty cheats!

Since ,apart from Robson and Ogbu on their good days, Wright is our only creative player, and is certainly the only one in the squad with real pace, it's no wonder eeve missed him. The frightening thing is that he is our only hope of changing things and hes only 18 with a handful of games behind him. A sad indictment of our recruitment

Max is actually 21 and 22 in April so not a young lad by any means but certainly a late developer or at least late getting his chance. Certainly looks the part and just needs a long run in the team to see if the potential we have all seen comes to fruition.

Quite. He's older than Clifton who was a pro in non league!

If you bulk up, you get slower. Long may he continue to stay as he is.

Agree with Northbank and Heisenberg.
He doesn't need to bulk up, it'd be un-natural if he did and he would lose part of the physical make-up that contributes to the player he is.

Diddy certainly didn’t. He was built like a barrel anyway. What a player, if only he were around now 😢

You can also name Bonetti, Gary Childs, Dave Smith, Kevin Donavan and Tony Ford among others that are slight in build and yet were effective wingers for us in the past. Theres probably many more but in my lifetime these ones stick out for me as well as Dave Gilbert, who was at the time my favourite town player

| In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions. Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them. GOD |

I get what you all are saying, for the record when I said bulk up I meant man up, as in grow into a more manly frame but thought 'man up' sounded wrong.

It wasn't a dig at you Rik, it's a statement I heard spouted about and annoys me...he's 21/22 and probably his natural frame is now what it'll always be...if he puts a few pounds of muscle on it'll possible be detrimental to his pace, what he needs to do is get wise to the fouls, see them before he gets clattered and that will only come with experience...

Yeah no probs, 'bulk up' was the wrong phrase, as that implies adding unnecessary, well, bulk. He can add strength and toughness, toughen the ligaments etc without too much added mass with the right strength and conditioning over time, which I'm sure as a pro footballer he gets. Explosive power not show muscle.
I didn't fill out properly till late 20's and he reminds me of a similar late sprouter. Well done to the club for sticking with him for years when in most past instances he would have been chucked on the scrap heap for not filling out enough for the mens game quickly enough. How many supremely talented late bloomers have fallen by the wayside over the years throughout English football where physicality is paramount? Far too many I'm sure.

I started filling out in my mid 20s too, unfortunately I didn't stop and now at 50 I'm a fat b@stard😂😂

Don't bother ironing. Just keep the clothes that used to fit me and put them on slightly damp. All the wrinkles soon go.
