He might well have got his info from Brown or his agent. Even then it might not be true as they might have an agenda. I’m not denying he’s saying that he turned it down. I’m just saying that he was never interviewed. He’s going through the same channels as it helps him look good for other vacancies (e.g. Fleetwood).

Initially Alfie claimed yesterday that Phil Brown hadn’t applied, wasn’t interested, is on holiday and hadn’t even spoken to GTFC. I know for a fact that this isn’t true. As Bentley and I stated last night, in the midst of the strong John Askey speculation, Brown was set to become manager. It was confirmed to the point that GTFC were briefing out to media outlets that there was going to be an announcement today. There wasn’t, so it fell through as RH rightly pointed out. Up The Mariners!
