Im working in Russia now in Siberia  , I spent a coulple of months in Moscow before I came here and it's a fantastic city with friendly people and amazing women  . st Petersburg and Kazan ect are supposed to be even better.
Whatever happened in France last year won't be happening here next year , If Putin wants the tournement to be a success then it will be , anyone messing that up including their Russian ultra types will be eating a plutonium sandwich and it'll be the last you ever hear if them :

Last time I looked Kiev was in Ukraine Jock. Uncle Vladimir may wish it otherwise but for now.....

Då ska vi vända hem     Then we shall turn home
då vill vi dit igen             there we want to be again
Till det ställe som             To the place from
vi ifrån en gång kom     which we once came

För längtan finns             For the longing is there
hos folk som minns             in people who remember
Den tid som var             The time that was
finns i drömmen kvar     remains in dreams
