I'll give you it about the pitches, never played on 1 decent Sunday league pitch I don't think.
Played in 2 county cup semi finals in GY. One at the athletics stadium  (king george) ?? and won and one at the college on nuns corner and I think we lost that one. Sure we went back to a pub just over peaks parkway, think it's a Toby carvery now

That'll be The Hainton Inn.

We used to play on the best pitch in Town for a few seasons. We played at Cheapside, Town's training ground which was obviously looked after by our groundsman. We enjoyed our most successful spell in those few seasons, as we finished 3rd in the top division one season and were the only team to beat the champions that season. Unfortunately they turned our pitch into several training sections and we were then passed from pillar to post around the local council pitches.

That'd be King George Playing Fields on Taylors Ave I would think Luke. Pitch 1 was the scene of your infamous offside "goal".

Not sure if you were playing when The Police had their own pitch on Bradley.. That was always one of the best pitches in Town as the Police had their own groundsman to look after it.

Played for the county at Bradley pitches. Can't remember who we played. Chris Woods was our keeper and Simon Garner (record appearance holder for Blackburn I think) played up front. He was from Boston. Another lad who played went on to ref at a high level.

Stopped 3 years ago at 37 and get more enjoyment out of watching my own boys play. Attitude and commitment of younger players (16-25) was generally poor. They thought they were doing you a favour turning up!
