What Moosey posted just about sums it up. This weekend last year we got back into the FL if you had said to me then that in a years time Slade would be back I would have said you where talking bollox,

Two words for me "consistently inconsistent" !

After starting the season with a manager who wanted away and left,

Then with all the bullshit that was Marcus ( I did like him though )

We were left with an unbalance squad top heavy with midfield players,

AND

Finally ending the season with a very experience manager,

We still ended up within spitting distance of the play offs,

So with the right signings that I am sure Slade will bring in,

If we are not top 3 it will be a play off place at least for next season,

Bring it on I can not wait.

I am reasonably satisfied with last season. As many have said a mid table finish was perfectly acceptable at the start of the season.  I agree with a lot of Grimsby Pete's comments. To go with some very good results there were some big defeats to forget. I love it when I read and hear comments of we shouldn't be losing to them etc. Why not? the so called lesser teams who have beaten us were football league sides for the past few years with squads used to playing in the football league, not stepping up like a lot of our squad. A good recruitment drive and pre season will no doubt build on last season and I can see a genuine improvement round the corner. For me it was a solid season in a division which clearly showed anyone can beat anyone, look at newports late run for example. Yes I was happy with it and never saw us as genuine play off contenders anyway. next year however...........

Win at Plymouth, Luton, Blackpool and Carlisle

Lose at home to Crewe, Orient, Hartlepool and Cheltenham

Says it all really.
