I'll be totally honest I Wasn't happy with his attitude and professionalism last week in regards to having competition for the first time in 4 years and sulking at losing his place etc etc BUT I was behind him all the way today as I always am every town player and he was brilliant no rustiness and as said in a previous post Roy of the rovers stuff couple of good saves and the penalty save it was made for macca well pleased for the lad hope it's all forgotten about now and he keeps on doing what he does best well done macca utm

You just could not make it up. Well done Macca and well done to the fans who welcomed him back with open arms. It's great being a Mariners fan at the moment. UTM

Thank you Mr Corbyn (Steptoe), you are the best thing that has happened to the Conservatives for ages.

very quiet first half for him in reality, came for a couple of crosses and generally looked calm....second half and did what he has done for several seasons now, good one on one saves, grea shot blocks and then his moment....i am sure we all can / will say that we just knew he would save it, was in the stars.

Well done Macca.

James Mckeown never wanted to leave GTFC according to an article in the Grimsby Telegragh.

Quote-

PENALTY hero James McKeown insists he NEVER wanted to leave Grimsby Town.

A week on from handing in a transfer request, the 27-year-old saved the day for his beloved Mariners against Luton Town.

McKeown denied the Hatters a would-be winner from the penalty spot at Blundell Park, bringing a dramatic few days to a heroic end during the 1-1 draw.

He told the Telegraph: "I had no idea what was going to happen on Tuesday.

"In my heart, when I did my last interview last Saturday, I did think that I was going to leave.

"I have never been in that situation before, but there will always be competition.

"I've never wanted to leave this football club, and I don't want to leave. It means a lot to me, and I've been here a long, long time."

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

So did someone forge his transfer request then ?  He obviously did want to leave didnt he, in an ideal world he may have wanted to stay but HE and HE alone put a transfer request in.
Should all blow over now after todays heroics................. til the end of season anyway.

The problem for goalkeepers, unlike any other position on the pitch, is that their errors are always renembered, whereas their heroics are quickly forgotten. He's made some miraculous saves for us over the years, and once again, for the umpteenth time in his Grimsby career, he's saved us from defeat.

Some of the posts on here recently have been beyond belief, and those responsible should hang their heads in shame.
