A strong Grimsby Town Reserves side thumped Mansfield Town 6-2 this afternoon.


A Scott Vernon hat-trick, two from Rhys Browne and an own goal sealed the victory.


First teamers Zak Mills,Andrew Boyce,Dan Jones,Craig Disley,Josh Venney, James Berrett,Tom Bolarinwa,Max Wright,Rhys Browne and Scott Vernon were included in Chris Doig's starting Xl.

Would imagine the line up in the Trophy that nobody is speaking of next week will be very similar. Some real strength in depth.

I was suprised to see Rhys Brown on the scoresheet, and that he is also jetting out at the weekend to represent his country in two games next week....thought he was injured !!!
Really want to see him in the first team.

It would easily beat the team that got relegated from the League 6 years ago.
