Could never really decide about him , just seemed OK at everything but not particularly good at anything . Maybe with a long run of games he might do well ? Imagine he was second choice after Dayle for them . So glad we are not in that league next season it's such a hard one to get out of . Never ever again .

I liked him as a support striker, and thought he was a little unlucky not to get off the mark with us but perhaps looks to be at his level in the Conference.

Isn't it great to be able to say that?

Yeah the Echo did put the story up and then deleted it. How funny is that.

A decent player at NL level if he could only just find a bit of composure in front of goal

Mansfield will be delighted to have outbid Hartlepool.

I thought Hoban looked a decet link player in one game in particular. May have been Wrexham at home?

I actually thought he was going to score the 3rd at Wembley and was a bit unlucky to see his shot blocked. Thank God though it fell just right for Arnold.

The Wembley goal sums him up.  Should have scored but ends up creating a chance for some one else by poor finishing.

It is irrelevant now but I would not have said his effort at Wembly was poor finishing. He had a good shot which just happened to be blocked.

Could also point out that Amond took a rather poor penalty but got lucky. Other than the pen he was curiously anonymous for the play-off games, but it's also irrelevant now.

I liked Hoban. He always worked hard and put a shift in. He was very unlucky in front of goal a number of times for us and he never seemed fully fit to me

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

Probably has goals in him providing he gets the right service - lots of crosses from the touchline, if the video of his goals in Ireland are anything to go by. This isn't something which we offered much of last season so our style of play didn't really suit him.

His goal scoring/appearance stats in the conference speak for themselves. I'm pleased a L2 rival has signed him.

One of the most ineffective strikers I've ever  had the misfortune of seeing wear our shirt. Dog egg. Guaranteed Mansfield's top scorer next year. With 5

Is that in all competitions

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'
