Football League Cup? It always used to be called the League Cup. Presumably the use of the prefix football is so that none of us confuse it with the Skateboarding League Cup, or the Dog-masturbation League Cup?

Similarly, by changing the name of the Football League to the English Football League, this will help those of us who occasionally believe we are living in Mozambique, or the planet Neptune.

The last 2 seasons the First Round draw has been made/announced at 10AM on the day before the league fixtures were released. If that is continued it will be Tuesday 21st June at 10AM.


If the football is bad you can always watch the gulls.
