The FA has viewed with concern a number of incidents at this stage last season involving pitch incursions by spectators. Such incidents at this stage last season involving pitch incursions by spectators. Such incidents have resulted in clubs being charged and subsequently fined up to £200,000 by Regulatory Commissions.

We would like to remind supporters that by entering onto the playing surface, you will be in breach of the Ground Regulations and as a result, could be banned from football by the courts for a minimum period of 3 years.

Please help your club by staying off the playing surface on Thursday night and prevent us from suffering any financial consequences.

Assume they are on about the Eastleigh game where the ref blew for full-time before the minimum added on had been played. A few fans were actually on the pitch beyond the touchline, lino couldn't run down the line. Impossible to take long corners.

IMO - the stewarding at that game was a farce and I hope the club learnt from it. Just about every ground regulation was broken in one end of the Pontoon with stairways blocked, double the amount of people in seated areas. I'm all up for a good atmosphere, but I'd rather people didn't have the potential to be hurt. People climbing over the hoardings before the 90 minute mark should have been dealt with. It's always one or two to begin with but as everyone else sees the stewards ignoring them is why everyone else joined in.,

For a few years now, we get warned/asked not to go on the pitch after the last match of the season and people still do... even season's when we've had nothing to celebrate

This time the club have received a letter from the FA, could be a generic thing to all clubs involved in televised games.

Yeah saw it on Facebook, meant it in a kind of "no-one pays any attention" kind of way...

I think it might be a generic letter

We are writing to remind clubs of the potential for mass pitch incursions by supporters

Who knows though?

No need to be a smart bottom, could only be a couple of clubs that get them.

Sorry, I was in no way intending to be a smart bottom, just putting my opinion across and saying what I thought might be the case?

Virtually every televised playoff game and  FA cup tie at a lower league ground that I have seen on TV has had a full-scale pitch invasion at the end. I can't believe they are on about that, it's people going on before the whistle. I remember the Southend game a few years ago at BP that was really bad when the ref played hardly any IT and Southend needed 1 goal to get automatic promotion I think.

Yes at time it can make me feel really awkward inside and full of dread anxiously looking at the officials that they might call off play or something when the game still in full flow and hordes of chavs surging forward over the  lines onto the playing area.

You can see the opposition players getting frustrated and complaining to ref and can see it one day getting us in hot water.

I hate over zealous policing but if stewards were pulled from other areas to form more of a wall with police behind them and a clear warning over tannoy that encroaching before the whistle will not be tolerated them perhaps could stem or delay the flow.

It would cause I'll feeling I know but if the first few made an example of, tackled and escorted out (no need for arrest just slap on the wrist and off you go) might make the followers think twice.

Until final whistle then stand down as man power requirements to high!

But those 12 away fans need a steward each - the rowdy gets!

Yep, they went into the game only needing to match Swansea's scoreline to secure the final promotion spot.  Southend fans had the family section of the Main Stand too for that game, I remember talking to a couple of them at the final whistle and apologising for our idiots.

Can completely understand why people run on the pitch when you've won promotion, knocked a massive team out the FA Cup, or something like that.  But just for the sake of it?  Nah, pathetic.  Set the police dogs free on them, soon hurry back over the hoardings.
