What an absolutely fantastic opportunity to draw Macclesfield in round 3  . Oh how gutting would that be. But can you imagine "number 8 Manchester United, will play number 1 Grimsby Town". i would do a little sex wee in excitement I think.

I can't believe we might just actually get into round 3 for the first time in years!!! That said, how many times do we under estimate our opponents and come unstuck (i.e. bath 2 seasons ago!)

I hope we can go on a cup run, I remember how magical the league cup run was when we beat Wigan, Tottenham, Liverpool etc and were unlucky against Newcastle. Days like that remind you why football is so special and why cup competitions such as the FA cup are without a doubt the best in the world.

2-0 v Charlton at the Park if I remember rightly. I seem to remember Andy Parkinson getting one in front of the Osmond Stand.

Charlton beat us 2-0, Danny Murphy and Franny Jeffers got the goals I think (League Cup)

The Parky one was against Wigan previous round

We've already had one! Three games and no goals conceded that's a long run by our standards already.

I'm not counting any chickens as they will be saying exactly the same thing. I still remember when Exeter beat us (I think they were BSP at the time) and they drew Man Utd (who we last played and beat in 1948 ) in a later round!

I have a habit of remembering things related to GTFC better than they were - at a family do once I had a massive argument with m brother over whether our second goal scored by Stacey Coldicott, v Lincoln at home in the 2004/5 season, flew into the top corner (as I believed) or not. As it transpired, it bounced into the far bottom corner.
